So.... Im watching Cajuns get a ton of support here and I am opposite. I see a Texas o-line and running game going up against a defense that was very good vs pass but struggled vs run. Sark has a new QB to break-in and possibly the best RB in college this year. I think I know how this may play out. Sark is going to lean on the oline and rb to make life easier for his QB and he definitely knows how to suck a defense in and take a shot when its warranted. I just feel that people are discounting Texas a bit here and giving a lil too much credit to Cajuns. This one has me leaning Texas and Ill be line-watching for value
Being that this opened at over 2Tds and has widdled down by td or so.... Im liking Texas -9.5 atm but im waiting to see if it goes further

Shough was splitting time with Brown by seasons end. With covid giving Brown an extra year of eligibility, it seems likely Brown was going to be starter and Shough left.... Im not sure how the fit is at T.Tech yet so im not betting that one right away but ill be watching it closely.

I hear you on Louisville General, and Ole Miss is getting a bit of hype (Kiffin induced), but as a Tide fan, that guy seems to get production out of his offense. The weakness of L'ville will be the defense (same with Ole Miss but I believe this was a point of focus in recruiting and coaching this off season). I think Ole Miss is going to score, a lot. I think the Ville can score on Ole Miss, but I don't know if they can score A LOT on Ole Miss. I like your idea of a teaser though I am not sure yet if I should tease the overall points, Ole Miss or the Ville :) Basically, my contribution is nil, sorry :)
Good Luck,

Good call. Definitely agree with your thinking here, Sark will play to his strengths, and even a "down" UT gets athletes like nobody's business. As a Tide/SEC fan, it pains me to see them break up another conference and come our way looking for $$$, so I really do want them to lose - but, it wopn't be this game. I hope enough people drive this thing down closer to 7, if so, I am going to put a buttload on these guys. Sark will get them up and running in their last couple of years in the Big 12 playing "us against the world", while recruiting his ass off in the state saying "we are gonna be in the SEC". By the time they get to the SEC, I expect a powerful UT. Their conference games are going to be harder than they think with all the vitriol that is going to be coming their way (and possible questionable hits), but this game, they got this.
Good luck,

Am I the only one who isnt ready to crown these guys? Im seriously skeptical of Malzahn. He has always been known as an Offensive guy but I gotta say... The production of Auburn on offense and the lack of development on offensive line and QB is kinda damning. I mean Bo Nix actually REGRESSED under Malzahn. Wasnt the better side of the ball always the defense somehow at Auburn? He gets a loaded UCF team here to play with and Dillon Gabriel is a great QB so we shall see but If Harsin gets better results out of Nix, I will seriously question Malzahn as a HC.
UCF should be a serious contender this year and this game vs Boise St will give the winner a big boost towards a New Years bowl berth. I think its gonna be a shootout so im takin them points.
I mean.... Gabriel isnt scaring anybody with his legs and Malzahn offenses with pocket passing qbs hasnt been very scary either

Shough started the season hot, but struggled with confidence and reads as the year went on. He has the physical tools at 6-5 220lbs but never developed the swagger and confidence to really be the guy. AB came in and provided the team with a much needed veteran presence and better decision making in the RPO game which is absolutely critical in a Joe Moorhead offense. Tyler is a great kid and I hope he crushes it at TTU but I wouldn't bet on it until I've seen him in action for a few games.

Green Marshall QB room? 3rd year redshirt freshman in Grant Wells. From the Conference USA website. "The Thundering Herd, who went 7-3 and 4-1 in C-USA play in 2020, welcome back nine starters on offense and four more on the defensive side of the ball, including QB Grant Wells, who was the C-USA Freshman of the Year last season." New coach in Charles Huff from Alabama with up tempo offense. The backup to Wells is Zban who also has three years. The only green is the color of the Herds uniform here. Marshall lost their last 3 games including the bowl game and Doc Holiday lost his job.
Admitted homer....Hail Herd.

not interested in Purdue as a favorite. I am interested to see Purdue in this game because they play Notre Dame in week 3.

Oregon St seems like a feisty dog but i rate Big 10 much higher than Pac 12 atm. Beavers aint at home either.

Navy NEED that game badly. The schedule doesnt give them any freebies. I think Navy is low stock for a lot of people and experts and its well-earned.... But last year was a complete anomoly for Niamatalolo’s squad. When they actually got time to play and hit people, they improved dramatically by seasons end. Thats the thing about the option offense, you REALLY NEED REPS.... especially when tryin to break in new lineman and QB’s.
This year is COMPLETELY different. I dont expect Navy to be world-beaters, but they can compete in the AAC. I think Navy knows this game is much more important for them than it is for Marshall. If Navy lose, its the beginning of a very long year..... Marshall could easily write-off the loss and still have a successful year

Purdue has the pieces in place. This matchup is perfect for them.... The things the beavers want to do (run the ball), is exactly what the Purdue defense is good at stopping..... And the things Purdue want to do (pass the ball), is exactly where the weakness of the Beaver defense is..... I think Purdue recievers could have a day.
I understand why people would be hesitant backing Purdue. Its justified. Part of this gambling thing is just trying to guess when to jump on the train and when to jump off
Purdue feels right for this opener, but past that, Im not having any illusions. The ND game will be huge for both

This is one of those games I cant WAIT to watch. Lotta controversy and pressure surrounding Fuente and this Vtech squad....
These 2 teams gave a show last time out and Vtech managed to lose while rushing over 250..... it was their only loss when rushing for that much as they went 5-1 when they hit that mark.... They went down 21-0 in first quarter and outplayed UNC the rest of the game. This season brings some turnover at different positions but the big difference for me might be the changes at RB for Vtech and RB/WR for UNC.... The things these teams did well vs each other are sort of a question mark now.
Sam Howell is damn good. But he will be working with a younger core of recievers and his security blanket RBs are gone to the NFL. UNC is still very stacked at those positions, its just an experience factor. UNC is getting a ton of hype for this season too as the obvious 2nd best team in the ACC and the only one people give a shot vs Clemson within the conference. Howell was lightout good last time but these guys will be a little lees experienced going into a buzzsaw of a road game..... BECAUSE
This game will be Friday night. Enter Sandman will be blasting.... And This is the perfect “circle the date” game for Vtech. The house will be rocking and UNC gets a big test right out of the gates.
That game last year was UNC at home -3..... And I believe THAT UNC team to be just a bit better than this team.... So now they are on the road on Friday night and its UNC -6?
Im leaning Hokies here. Ill take the +6 with the home team in what could be another shootout. Enter Sandman has a funny way of shaking up a college football season
