I think every post or comment I've read in the last 30-45 minutes has been "I'm taking AF" "GT has suspended players" "GT doesn't want to be there" "GT doesn't care" "GT has lost 5 in a row bowl game-wise" "AF so much better with the option and more disciplined".
The thing is, I agree with it all, but if every degenerate in this forum is on the same Air Force bandwagon operating under the same notions and reasoning, Jesus Christ that scares me and makes me think the linesmakers have us right where they want us.
The best thing to happen to Georgia Tech was getting to a face a team that runs the same offense they do. The Jackets have proven all year long they can't stop a normal balanced run/pass offense. You may think, "Okay, well Air Force should be able to stonewall GT's option game as well", maybe, but I would bank on GT cranking out yards because they do it against anyone and everyone. Their defense is their achilles hell.
This is by no means a blowout on either side, I'm seeing a classic, whoever has the ball last, wins.
Your classic office pool straight up pick'em squares are probably on GT because of name recognition and big school versus little school.
Your classic degenerate bowl bettors I know are on Air Force b/c I see it in this forum and with the information made available to them on no Nesbitt, suspensions, curfew breaks, etc, how can you not be at such a short number of -2.5 or -3?
In my opinon, something stinks.
Anyone else see the angle I'm coming from, or am I am the only independent thinker on this one.
Also, this is just the Independence Bowl, sometimes it might just be this easy to roll with AF.

I see it too...and it makes me wonder. One thing I keep going back to is Paul Johsnon's success against AF. Beat them the last 5 times he faced them as Navy's HC. He knows their offense and how to stop it...and maybe all this time off will find a Ga Tech team that plays with an attitude of "us against the world" because they are sick of losing bowl games and sick of all the shit they have had to deal with over the last 3 months. This may be a chance for them to kind of redeem themselves and give them a springboard into next season

Uconn - Thanks, not playing it, just an observation
HotRoute - Glad you see the same thing I do. Of course, we're not in Atlanta, we're not at practice, we're not in the film room, who knows these what these kids are thinking, but you bring up valid points about their recent bowl skid and maybe their motivation.

Yeah, I mean after losing bowl game after bowl game I would think Paul Johnson and they players would get sick of being looked at as a joke when it comes to the bowl season and use it as motivation to get their shit together and show up...but like you said, not being around this team for the last 4 weeks it is hard to tell. Well, there are no sure things, hence the term gambling, but does GT really 'appear' like they care about this bowl game?
You just had a group of guys get suspended for the 1st half for missing curfew, one of those being a productive starter and upperclassmen. Doesn't exactly speak to leading the team by example imho.
I think GT's bowl game was their season finale at UGA. They gave it their all in that one and played a great game, almost pulling it out.
I will be impressed if they 'get up' for facing Air Force in the Independence bowl.

i have noticed the same thing and worried about the same issue....but in my research somewhere, (forget where) someone said that the public was all over georgia tech (for whatever reason) and thats why the line wasn't moving...the post actually went onto explain why because the public was playing georgia tech and the line wasn't moving was actually a good sign for air force and it seemed to make pretty good sense...can someone check if the public is actually on georgia tech im not sure how (and i have trouble believing it)

I have no idea on #'s, but I would think GT would receive a good bit of 'public' play based on name recognition.
Because everybody knows GT > Air Force right? ACC beats Mountain West, right? GT has bigger, stronger, faster athletes, right?
And bonus, look at that, GT is getting points +3.
Yeah, your typical village square bettor operates under that notion, but how many of these types of bettors are really out there? I would venture to say that there are just as many informed bettors and these informed bettors know the information regarding the game. Your square bases a pick off your rationale, your true degenerate is basing it off the known information and the fact that Air Force played a tough schedule and that GT is in disarray.
Do we really know the true answer? No. Will we ever, probably not, it's all perspective and point of view and we all have our own.
This is just my unique observation concerning this bowl game and two teams involved.

Anyone else see the angle I'm coming from, or am I am the only independent thinker on this one.
as someone who is always an independent thinker on this site... i have had AF circled as a play for over a week now, based purely on the season results of each team, and basing none of it on suspensions... AF performed at a much higher level than GT this year...
i understand the "fade Covers" angle... but it is by no means a 100% successful angle... imo, you have to still cap the game... if capping the game tells you GT is the play, then go with it...

Taking a quick glance around the forums I'd say earlier today I saw a good bit of AF love, but know I'm seeing just as much if not more GT love.
And yes I was 'concerned' earlier when I saw a good bit of AF plays and I was leaning towards them, but your going to get that sometimes.
You're correct, at the time I made my observation, I saw a majority of AF backing, in the past few hours I have seen some GT with some of the better handicappers on the site ie; Macwestie, rush, on them.
But, I read the sparse posts on this game in the past 1-2 weeks or so, not only on this forum, but other website forums, and the general concensus on my observation was the backing of AF due to GT's inefficiences and problematic issues, GT mailing it in, they don't want to be in Shreveport, etc, etc.
So, it's not just the window of time with AF love earlier, I have seen it previously as well.

How about the fact that AFA gives up almost 200 ypg on the ground in a conference that is always a passing conference. Combine that and the fact that GTs talent is far superior to AFAs, esp on the 2nd and 3rd teams. They see the option everyday in practice against an offense that is far superior to the one Air Force will bring to the field today. Injuries will take their toll no doubt, but the line stinks and I dont think GT is gonna have much of a problem stopping something theyve seen day in day out since Coach J has been there...

It's not a total, 100% fade covers angle, I have seen the same sentiment towards AF around the internet on other gaming sites that allow for opinions to be freely made 24/7 in a forum atmosphere.
Of course you have to cap the game, in my opinion, GT got a reprieve getting to match up against a team that does everything the Jackets do, minus a dose of discipline that AF always operates with.
I expect a back and forth game with the way I capped it, and as I stated, whoever has the ball last, may be the ultimate winner straight-up in this contest.
