What a narrow minded approach.  If the line was Akron +50 you'd an idiot NOT to bet Akron. If train thinks the line is 8 points higher than it should be, then he'd be an idiot not to bet it. I personally agree with train, Ucf on road, new qb, Ohio st on deck. Who in there right mind would feel confident laying 3+ Tds on that?

I concur Lefty. I can only assume Akron will have some improvement and pride, something lacking in their game since forever. I think that may be enough on opening night. All it takes is a turnover or big play and this game could be interesting. Could also be a 38-0 Akron ass kicking. Neither would surprise me.

If I see 24.5 tomorrow I will have to play it.

first of all if the game has value you should bet it. saying there are games that are better to bet doesnt seem relevant. it's not like you can only bet x amount of games or w/e. anyway idk about the new qb angle as bortles played a lot last year and is for my money a surefire improvement. im in on the over at 46.5 but i still like it at 49.

Yes Akron is a perennial cellar dwellar and only covered 2 games last year (3 if you count VA Military).....

However, this is :

A) opening game

B) at night

C) on a thursday

D) UCF has Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes on deck

E) Akron has a new coaching staff including head coach Terry Bowden, special teams coach Jeff Bowden and DC Chuck Amato . Not saying they are the best ever, but are a huge upgrade and bring a ton of experience which means they gain instant respect and credibility from the players.

UCF only scored more than 31 points 1 time last year, and that was against Memphis (41) (not counting the 62-0 win vs Charleston Southern).....They will have most of offense back, but will be switching up at qb.....

Again, I'm not calling from a SU Akron win. But, a td swing always makes me take a peek...Total has also dropped from 49 to 47....Should be an ugly game....If I can get 24.5 I may make this a play.

 

Just food for thought. 

 

 



respect ur opinion mostly...but.... UCF has the same shot on covering against OSU  than Akron against them...and thats none .... IT might be opening night...but  that doesnt help you when ur inferior .... Akron is and always will be pizza shiet ...,  and if a team like UCF ( not that its the cream of the crop) doesnt blow the doors of a team like akron....well , they might very well start thinking on doing something else than playing football.....

Train, Chuck Amato was a great assistant coach back in the day--8 straight conference champs as D coach.  FSU started to fizzle after B. Bowden lost both he and Marc Richt.  Jeff Bowden was the worst offensive coach in FSU history in the post-Mudra era (oh thank heaven for 0-11 as the gator fans were known to say).

Terry is an interesting character.  Strangely, he lost his job after going 11-0 at AU and never worked again except for on TV.  ALLEGEDLY, rumor was something happened between him and the provost's daughter.  talk about pooping where you scoop.

This has nothing to do with your play, of course.  Interesting hire by Akron.

All due respect Train...had no idea Goodfellas is running Akron, my goodness all that comes to mind are ATS nightmares at Clemson and Florida State.  Just for the Coaching Staff ALONE I love Central Florida.  I just think Odds guy know this crew all to well...

the line isn't 50... and i would feel confident laying 3+ TDs on that...

these are 2 shitty schools. and 1 of those schools is getting more than 3 tds to play with?

thats like a bum fight where you give 1 of the bums a baseball bat. id take the slightly weaker bum with the bat.

I like it too 44. Now I'm sure if I'm wrong (yes,it has happened before), that I will get mutiple "i told you so's" . I'm cool with that. Doesnt take  much skill to talk shit after an outcome is know. I'm also not big on laying 4 scores on the road with an offense that doesnt light it up. I honestly see this as a 30-17 or type game. Of course a UCF 37-0 score wouldnt shock me in the least. Gotta go with my gut.
