keep up the good work...are those your leans still for Saturday games?
Houston vs. Penn State
No defense vs. No offense and No offense vs. No defense means this should be an interesting game because something has to give. I know I said this in the C-USA championship game and I was completely wrong, but I can’t imagine Case Keenum losing his last ever football game. Plus, I think PSU is mentally done with football for the year. I love this play, but the best defense that Houston has faced all year was either UCLA or La Tech and that is not saying much. On the other hand (read the intro), Tom Levine was introduced as the new permanent head coach for Houston. He will start his campaign out on the right foot as he wins 42-17. I kind of want to take the over at 57 because Houston’s defense is terrible. Defense wins championships and offense wins games. This is just a game!
Pick: Houston -6 (Levin Lock)
Ohio State vs. Florida
Urban Meyer (or as Florida fans will soon call him: Urban Liar). Need I say more? Both of these teams have terrible offenses. Ohio State has a better defense. The game is in Jacksonville and the Gators have already played in this stadium against Georgia and lost 24-20 (could be the same score). You figure playing closer to Gainesville would help UF, but alas I do not think it does. The OSU wins 17-10. With all the points scored in the first half. OSU needs to win this game otherwise they will not have another shot at a bowl game until 2013 (banned from next year’s bowl games). I should only take the under, but I will go with
Pick: OSU +2.5
Pick: Under 44 (Levin Lock)
Michigan State vs. Georgia
Both of these teams have great defenses. Another liberal lock by me, but another ‘Note To Self’ was: “if an over/under seems too good to be true, it probably is NOT too good. Take it.” I could picture this as a 24-23 type game and this might be a little on the high side.
Pick: Under 50 (Levin Lock)
South Carolina vs. Nebraska
Congrats on the Nebraska Martinez (aptly named for their only player-similar to the Denver Tebows) for finishing their first season in the big 10 ranked. It’s amazing to think the Gamecocks have only loss two games after kicking their starting QB out off of the team and losing their starting RB (and one of the top running backs in all of college football) to injury. I like a 24-20 type of game with South Carolina breaking the record for most wins in a season in team history.
Pick: Under 46

Wisconsin vs. Oregon
This game and the next one I talk about are the two games that I am most excited to watch. I know Oregon fans travel very well, but so do Wisconsin fans. Wisconsin will get a chance at redeeming their loss last year in this exact same bowl game. I say the final score is Oregon 33-30, but defense keeps Wisconsin in this game (even boy allowing 33 points). Wisconsin ranks 4th and Oregon ranks 3rd in points scored. With that said, I actually LOVE (why not make it a lock? because the best offense that Wisconsin played was either Nebraska or Michigan State) the under play in this game. I’ll stick with the satisfaction knowing that the worse case scenario with these picks is going 1-1
Pick: Wisconsin +6
Pick: Under 72
Oklahoma State vs. Stanford
These are two of the most dynamic offenses in college football. To be exact Stanford is 6th and Oklahoma State is 2nd. Again, with that said, I think the game goes under (read the introduction for one of the reasons) and the other reason is that both of these defenses are underrated (If I make the above game a lock, then I will have to do this one, too). Two fantastic QBs playing in their final game. Overall, the Cowboys have more NFL caliber players than Stanford. Next year, Stanford could be the college version of the Indianapolis Colts of this year. I believe Oklahoma State is a bit disappointed that they are not playing in the championship game. Stanford wins 37-34 in 2OTs.
Pick: First half under 38
Pick: First quarter Stanford +.5
I had this game as a Levin Lock under in the first half, but after watching the Auburn/Virginia game I like Stanford instead of the under. Logic being that Stanford (just like Virginia) has one of the best first quarter defenses.

Michigan vs. Virginia Tech
Appalachian State, East Carolina, Arkansas State, and Marshall. Are these random schools that I chose for you to try and guess their nickname or is this the out of conference schedule of the Hokies? The latter is the correct answer (for the record the nicknames are Mountaineers, Pirates, Red Wolves, and Thundering Herd, respectively). Last year, I said Stanford was a lock in the Orange Bowl over Va Tech for the same reason. We all know about Virginia Tech’s defense, but not many people know how good Michigan’s defense is playing by allowing the exact same 17.2 ppg that Virginia Tech allows (I did not know how well they were playing either). Michigan wins 30-17. Again, you will not go 0-2 by doing both of these plays.
Pick: Michigan -2.5

Clemson vs. West Virginia
I know I said that the other two games were the two games that I am most excited to watch, but this game will feature the most athletic players. This game will involve two of the most explosive offenses with pretty poor defenses. Dub V averaged 34.9 ppg and gave up 26.3 ppg, while Clemson was nearly identical giving up 26.2 ppg and scoring 33.6 ppg. Both team teams average over 440 yards of total offense per game. I’ll continue my disgust for Big East football and take Clemson 40-36. Both teams have yet to face an offense like this. I don’t see how both teams don’t score over 30. This is another play that I love and will make a lock.
Pick: Over 61
I'm picking Clemson with WV RB injured in practice.
Pick: Tigers -3

Kansas State vs. Arkansas
This is an interesting game. Both of these teams were passed over to play in a BCS bowl game. One team because of a rule that does not allow 3 teams in the same conference to participate in the BCS games, while the other was just passed over (mostly by the Sugar Bowl). Two of Arkansas’ coaches have taken head coaching jobs elsewhere while their defensive coordinator resigned (I didn’t think he did anything anyways, but they were 36th out of 120 teams in points allowed). This will be the second game of the season that Arkansas will play at Cowboys stadium against a Big 12 opponent. Kansas State didn’t get any love from the Sugar Bowl just like they never get any love from Vegas. Although, they ALWAYS seem to play with their competition no matter who they are playing. We will take out the Oklahoma (lost by 41), Kent State (won by 37), and Kansas (won by 38) games and in the other 9 games the margin of difference was 4.77. When Arkansas win they average 41.8 ppg. I think the Razorbacks win this 42-34.
Pick: Arkansas -7.5
