like. minny or nothing. I have no interest in putting money on road teams who play no D, esp vs run heavy O. bol either way.
@Laroja
If Taylor plays, it will be a good match between him and Omar Hampton of UNC. Hampton rushed for over 1500 yards last season and averaged 5.9 yds a carry. That was on a pass happy team with Drake Maye (#3 NFL pick) at QB. UNC does have an inexperience OL, so it will be worth watching.

Maybe Vegas wants you to read it that way....how about a strong reason why UNC will disrupt a strong opening day record for PJ Fleck career wise and the fact he also has a high bowl record at 6-2 which should tell you that with plenty of time to prepare, he knows how to get the players motivated to win a game
Did I mention Gophers #19th best returning players rating and their defense being rated much higher than UNC's? How did things work out for Scott Frost and Nebraska last year when every strong poster in Covers pretty much was on Nebraska on a small line and they lost 13-10

I’ll add a couple more bits of info my fellow Tarheel left out. Carolina is returning only one player on the offensive line who has ever started a college football game. Minnesota is also having a Gold Out if you’re into that kind of emotional motivational edge. Carolina’s D-Line is suppose to be better this year, definitely more experienced.

This is my worry as well. I just don't feel good about the OL holding up. The OL has been bad for years, but Sam and Drake were so good they made plays anyway. I don't trust Johnson behind a bad OL.

Keep in mind that if the home dog scores over 20 points they cover over 69% of the time with a line of less than +14, which looks likely in this game.

I’ve decided I’m taking the under 50.5. They are expecting a storm in Minnesota. Good chance RB Darius Taylor does not play for Minn. I think Minnesota wants to run the ball behind their big offensive line because of their QB.
Max Johnson while he has experience at other schools, has never had a season where he had more big-time throws than turnover worthy plays. I think the UNC coaching staff may want him to more manage the game and not make mistakes, especially when they have a great back like Hampton.
New QB’s for both teams could spell trouble in the red zone especially if there is bad weather. Bothe teams have new Defensive Coordinators so I’m thinking maybe they have their defenses excited to play and prove something. UNC returns a lot of experience on the defensive side of the ball, though it was a bad defense last year. I’m hoping it will be at least a little improved.
All the above makes me think points could be a premium tonight so I’m going under. Tail or fade at your own risk.

Good hunch Darius Taylor will play tonight…if you read, coach did mention how is injury pretty small and they were just resting him in practice….and add the tidbit fact Fleck is 5-2 in season openers…
I think we see this line swing back to Minni -1

I personally feel the line moved heavy toward UNC due to the fact they have been successful past few years. Most people make plays on what the remember last, rather than digging and doing research. Going to be a tough game, but a new QB on the road opening day and now posted as a favorite in possible bad weather adds a new dynamic of pressure. When it’s your job to lose it’s way different than coming off the bench. I have Minn at -2, but I would be very surprised if they didn’t win outright. I would also lean that Taylor is playing. This is one of the biggest games of the night and probably one of the heaviest played. Books want to keep people on their toes. Just my opinion which isn’t worth much LOL
Either way BOL everyone.

Good points! I think UNC will play Harrell more at QB tonight if the line is having problems. Much more mobile QB and maybe will open some things up. Not betting the game, but hoping our Heels can get it done. Go Heels!!
