Bama at Arkansas.. Some Facts

I'm certainly not a homer I am unemotional about betting $. The highlighted part above is where your reasoning is faulty. You can't give any proof or insight to why Petrino is not in the same class as Saban other than that Saban has national titles. The latter part of your statement really discredits anything you say also and I hope thats self explanatory. Do some research and see what Petrino has done.

I dont think that saying he won a title on talent is even an argument, it takes a great coach to win a national title, but theres only one coach that can do that in a year and for that reason I think that saying that Petrino isnt an elite college coach because he hasnt done that is bad reasoning.

As far as upsetting us Bama fans, don't worry about that bro. I said earlier in the year how hard it would be for Bama to repeat, and almost impossible to go through conference play without a loss. I actually was most concerned with  Florida, but from what I have seen of them, and how inconsistent they have been, the Gamecocks probably pose the bigger threat. I don't let me being a fan influence my bets. Infact I only bet on Bama 4 times all of last season. VT, SEC Championship Game, National Championship Game, and one other in regular season.  Me being a Bama fan has absolutely nothing to do with seeing a huge value in Bama - 7. Thats all it boils down to.

backup rb as good as the starting heisman winning rb. check

petrino and mallet just won their first sec road game last week at ga. as in didnt win any last year. yeah mallet has a cannon for an arm but last year he bought it to bryant-denny and got smashed.

I do say that since we are "homers" our oppinions are easy to attack and I would take the "its not even close" off of the WRs and put it on the OL section. Our OL isnt great and their WRs are very good. I do think we have the better WRs but it is closer than "not even close".

Shit, I would love to see Arky win this game, but I dont give a shit. I just dont see Bama being 7 points better than them in this spot. Could I lose? Yeah, none of us are perfect, but playing spots like this is how I have been profitable for years and playing the reverse of these spots is how I have seen people go broke.

you should try it, thats why its called handicapping.  and yes, i have gotten my ass handed to me before, im not afraid to admit it. but i have gotten better at my numbers because of it.  its a process, far from exact, always a work in progress. thats what makes it fun for me. 

and no, you didnt answer my question as to how you think arkansas will stop alabama.  you havent supported your play other than tell me that arkansas is a home dog in a big game on national television.  so far, that is all the reasoning you have given me as to why your playing the hogs.  and thats fine, but id like to see something that actually supports how arkansas will stay within the number, other than "bama's d is overrated"

you can try to make yourself believe that arkansas has an advantage on defense all you want, but you know it isnt true.  i dont care how many sacks arkansas had against tennessee tech. if the game is on the line in the 4th quarter and bama has the ball, you'll be closing your eyes and praying that your defense can stop somebody. 

and the fact that you dont think bama's WR's are even close to arkansas is proof enough that you are way too much of a homer to look at this game without bias.

Mr. Diamond you are also biased, I think everyone is biased one way or the other thats why the make the bets they do. How you get to your bias is what is important if you just think Arkansas is going to win because you are a fan that is a poor reason to be biased IMO.

I dont know if you saw the Georgia Arkansas game but the situation about the 4th quarter with the game being on the line came up in that game and Bequette took the Georgia QBs helmet off on a big 3rd down play. Obv Georgia isnt Alabama especially in the QB department but I think your underestimating the D. Starting with the Florida game last year our D has played very well.

What does any of this matter to anyone? It's words and numbers in the end. People are here for the same reason and to have themselves heard. Plus people place bets off of various information. In my opinion if the people on the field are healthy throughout then to me Arkansas does not have a chance to cover this at all. the numbers are relatively the same dating back two years and the players are pretty much the same if not better than the ones who departed.

With all due respect, Petrino can't win conference titles a conference in which he doesn't coach.  Petrino is a very accomplished college coach, particularly on the offensive side of the ball.  Would I trade him for Saban?  Not on your life, but that does not in anyway take away what Petrino has accomplished.  This guy had Louisville in the national championship conversation for several years . . . at Louisville for God's sake!!!    Where has Louisville been since he left?  How many times has Louisville been considered a national title contender since he left?  When Petrino was at Louisville, they were the Boise State of college football.
