I didn't take it as you calling me out. I just thought you were looking for clarification.
I know some other people have said Saban is light-years ahead of Petrino, but I did not say that. I think when you look at coaching college football and everything that goes in its totality, Saban is pretty far ahead of Petrino. But if we are just talking about game planning and gameday coaching, Petrino is pretty damn good.
This Bama team is battle hardened with a lot of big-game experience. I honestly don't think home field advantage will mean much.

Why Bama will cover against Arkansas:
#1: Alabama has 462 yds combined rushing against Arkansas the last two years with 6 TD's.
#2: Alabama has outscored Arkansas 84-21 the last two years.
#3; Ryan "I am over-rated" Mallet threw for only 160 yds 1TD and 1 INT.
All this after putting up 400 yds and 5 td's against Georgia the week before.
Alabama is way too strong on all three sides of the ball for Arkansas to even come close.

Why would Bama have the UF game circled? The Tide killed the Gators last season, they're playing UF at home and Florida is not in Bama's division. A loss against Florida does not derail Bama's season like losing to Arkansas would. Sure you want to win every game, but if Bama loses to the Hogs, their odds of going to the SEC Championship game get much longer. Also it's the SEC opener against a team whose bandwagon got so big the wheels are about to fall off. Just like Ole Miss didn't have a QB, Arkansas does not have a defense. Bama's gonna hit 40 or get very close to it in this game, so you had better believe Arky will reach 35+ or else they will not cover.
I love that this is an Arkansas game that we are talking about first of all, the excitement I have for this Saturday is amazing. So for this reason I dont want to say whether or not Arkansas or Bama is going to cover.
Instead let me talk about thought processes that go into betting sports. I think that taking what happened in last years game is completely meaningless especially in college football.
These teams change dramatically from year to year, this isnt the pros where people play together on the same team for a decade. Its all about matchups, how is THIS Arkansas team going to play against THIS Alabama team THIS Saturday. Im glad everyone is confident in their plays for whatever side you are on but I (like I know many of you) have been betting for a while and I put a lot of thought into it. Therefore, I dont understand how I can see so many posts about how sure everyone is that Bama is going to cruise in this game and cover by 2 tds and such.
