I agree with you Lucan. LSU Alum here, and I do not want to play BAMA again. If these two teams play 10 games, BAMA would probably win 6 in TTown, in Death Valley, I would give LSU 6 wins. Neutral field including the Super Dome, 5 each. I do not think Saban would make the same mistakes this time around. These are the two best teams in the NCAA this year, but being a homer I would have much rather played OK State or Oregon. I feel those would easier wins (OK State, you suck). In fact, IF we get to the big game against someone other than BAMA, I would point out that ARKY and Georgia would be the tougher contests. I believe we can win out, but believing and achieving are two different things.
LUCAN, you're not at all worried of poll manipulation if Oregon destroys its next 3 opponents. The Southeast writers and coaches are the only voters that will not vote Oregon ahead of BAMA. Just my opinion, but I do not believe the media and coaches across the country would want an all-SEC NC Game.
Just my two cents, if we do get to play BAMA again, I just hope for a game befitting the NC. It still wouldn't be a blowout for either side, I would opt for the points.
The reason i'm not worried is because they are already on Alabama side and have been there all year. When you have a team that is ranked No1 in every defensive stat possible they can't be denined. If Alabama was like 1st, 3rd, 14th, 19th. Then i would be worried.
The voters for the heisman also or up north..etc. But they put Alabama and Auburn players back to back heisman trophy winners, along with the computers putting them back to back in the NCG. There's no fear here!!!!!
Look brother it don't matter who LSU plays, Alabama or Oregon it's got to be something that worries the heck out of you till the last minute of the 4th qt clock.
I been there with Alabama on top waiting to go threw the same motions with my emotions, it's heart wrenching until its over. You know you also been there before. This is by far the time of the season that keeps a true fan awake at night.
