or, jimmy, just a pic of that mugshot....
damnit
You HATE Florida Jimmy.....So of course you are gonna say Bama wins...Teblow's? Not even close....I will have some class and at least admit Bama has a decent chance in this one and that is why I am pounding the Florida money line....But Florida should win it...the books don't lie....

Really I don't hate anyone, and I certainly don't hate teams that are cash cows like Florida has been for me the last few years. I maxed bet them in both of their last two national championship games. I think you are confusing a money making operation with a joke.
The books are the books. Just because they list a team as a favorite doesn't mean they'll win. You know that. If I were a bookie, I would list Florida as the favorite as well. They've won 2 out of the last 3 national championships and have about a bazillion game winning streak. I certainly don't see how one could list Bama as the favorite in this situation. Nevertheless, if the Bookie was giving me 5 points to take Florida, I'd probably bite.
Ok so TeBlow and Timmy likes juice wasn't very nice. Let me try again. Bama will win this game. Please, please don't put money on Florida!!!

Saban has Meyer and Tebow's number. Bama has improved from last season, Florida hasn't. They still run the same ole offense, that WILL be stopped come Saturday.
I don't put much stock into speculation, and hoopla, but I'm gonna step outside my normal box here and say that Florida has some major issues they are dealing with right now. Urban Meyer has to go up against a mind like Nick Saban without the full focus of his team. They just lost one of their major defensive leaders because he wasn't focused, got drunk, and passed out at a red light at 3am. One of their coaches is mixed up in a possible change of venu over at TCU right now, and will be distracted, and will cause the rest of the team to be distracted.

Conventional wisdom says key on Bama's run game and make McElroy beat you over top. That is the mantra we've heard all week. But this is not something new. This is basically the same strategy every team has employed against Alabama for the last 4 years. Moreover, "stopping the run first" is the approach the vast majority of defensive coordinators across the country (at all levels) take. That certainly is the philosophy of Saban's defense.
And while we hear the "make McElroy beat you with the pass" drumbeat from the media, what we don't hear is the "make Tebow beat you with the pass."
It is common knowledge that Tebow is not, and never has been, a proficient passer - especially this year (he ranks as the 86th best passer in the nation). If he were, he'd be the undisputed #1 pick in the NFL draft this year. The fact of matter is that Tebow will never play QB in the pros because he lacks the necessary passing skills. Hardly anyone disputes that.
What you won't hear from the media is that if this game comes down to the each team's respective passing games, Florida is in trouble because Bama's passing game is better than Florida's. Bama has the better passer, and the better receivers. Florida, however, has the better pass defense IMHO.
For Bama the formula is simple. If you stop Tebow, you stop Florida. And while I don't think Bama will completely shut down Tebow, I think they will slow him down to the point where he will have a very bad and frustrating day.
Ultimately, the team who is more balanced offensively will probably come out on top, and I believe that offense and that team will be Alabama. Florida's and, by extension, Tebow's run will come to an abrupt end in the Georgia Dome on Saturday.

What really suprises me here is how everyone is saying Alabama's McElroy is such a terrible QB.Yes up against Tebow any one looks inferior but have you really looked at the numbers?
They've played essentially the same schedule in many ways. And if McElroy is so horrible than why does he have more passing yards and essentially the same TD to INT ratio as Tebow?(Tebow is 17/4,McElroy is 16/4)
Another thing to look at is turnover margin for this game.Florida is a very admirable +8,But Alabama is +15.Will be interesting to see who wins that one

As I said above, I believe Bama has the better passing game, but I would probably give a slight edge to Florida's pass defense.
I hate to sound like every schmuck on tv on radio, but of course turnover margin will be huge. Both teams do a great job of protecting the football. But I firmly believe that Bama is the more physical team. In fact I'll make the bold prediction that at least 2 of Florida's starters won't finish the game. Because Bama is the more physical team, I like Bama to win the turnover margin.

I have only bet on Bama once this year, and it was their first game against Virginia Tech. Tomorrow will be # 2..... Bama ML ... no points needed. GL to all.

Congrats to all Bama backers!!!
I posted all week on Covers in various threads that not only would Bama win, but they would win convincingly. I also said that Florida would not score 20 points, that Bama would be the more physical team, that they would win in the trenches, that McElroy was a better passer than Tebow, and that they would knock out at least 2 Florida starters. I think all of these predictions were born out in the game today!!!
I hope I succeded in helping some people get on the right side of this game.
