Glad to see you chime in Train now you are one guy who has all my respect when it comes to capping. Merry Christmas.
I try to chime in when I can (tougher these days). I'm wrong often though, and 165 is good st sniffing dogs out. This is a strange game indeed, with the location/time off/OSU losing 5 staight/Boise losing its qb .....Wont be surpised to see either team and the game go into the 80s....or a 21-17 game.

Perception is Oregon St is bad cuase they lost 5 in a row an dBoise St is still the team that beat Oklahoma with the Statue of Liberty play.....
Fact is Boise didnt beat one decent team and they had an awful schedule.
bol chargerfan
True that.
Oregon St went into Oregon and played them tough losing by one point.
If Boise State goes to Oregon they get smoked by 20 or more.
And as someone else said, if motivation is a factor, why do more not sense the Boise QB Whizzing off balcony just may be a sign that they are partying too hard.

I haven't posted in 3 years but I had to chime in. This is one of the most sensible threads I have seen in years. I am a professional sports handicapper and this is spot on. I will be placing 10k (small wager) on bsu+3. thank you 165 for your insight.
I'm a chump change better never bet more than $50 to $100.00 per game i sure would like it if you would post that $10,000 ticket because you for sure have a bigger set of nuts than me betting 10G's ON THIS GAME.

Boise's last six games went 4-2. For the sake of illustration I'll use Saragins Ratings for those six opponents
#99 Nevada 34-17
#29 @BYU 20-37
#88 @Colorado St 42-30
#141 Wyoming 48-7
#96 @SDSU 31-34
#149 N.Mexico 45-17
Oregon St Last 6
#121 Cal 49-17
#3 Stanford 12-20
#20 USC 14-31
#8 Arizona St 17-30
#12 Washington 27-69
#4 Oregon 35-36
Boise still had Peterson and Southwick was still mending. BYU is a tough road game but not Top 25.
Oregon St. ran the gauntlet. They hung tough against Stanford, ran into a rejuvenated Ogeron SC, road game in AZ, and shite the sheets vs. Washington And well...lost to Oregon...by 1
My $ will be on the incumbent head coach with the senior QB that did not get sent home...the team that walked the mine field the last five games and gets a shot at a weaker public favorite Boise St.

This is one of the easier Bowls to get a read on. You generally find out who really wants to win this game because the weather is so nice and the place is so beautiful it's easy to get distracted if you are in your late teens or early 20's. Oregon St. has given up. They played their hearts out and gave everything they had against their rival and was a heartbreaking loss at that, this game means nothing to them.
Don't be fooled by the passing numbers of Mannion or the PPG they put up. He can't be trusted. All he does is dink and dunk and has a weak arm which is why he doesn't stretch the field enough. Last 5 games 7 TD's and 11 INT's. Mannion will throw for 700 yds today and his team somehow lose.
If you read my write ups you know how I feel about betting to the coach which is the most important thing and motivation a distant second. But having Peterson not here is the best thing we could have asked for. Your boss gets fired you will be a much more productive worker for 3 months. Want your employees to be 30% more efficient paint the walls a different color. Change always brings more production in any walk of life, forget football.
Thrilled Southwick isn't playing. Hedrick has played in 12 games this year and will be fine, the offense isn't going to suffer. Ajayi and Miller will carry this offense against a defense that is comical. Boise has a bad defense but at least they have showed improvement of late. OREST can't run, they did put up some big rushing numbers against the Ducks but more of an aberration. The defense is giving up nearly 200 yds a game against an offense rushing over 200 yds a game. Oregon St. better not get down because they'll run it down their throat all night and they'll be help less to stop the clock or the chains from moving.
During this losing streak it's now months the last time Oregon State has won and it's so tough to break that kind of streak. These guys forgot how to win a game. Nothing smart about betting a 6-6 team laying 3, you are hoping they show up.
Stop with the no QB or coach nonsense which is all I keep reading about. This is the best scenario a Boise backer could have asked for. In a location that takes away motivation. No coach and no starting QB is the perfect storm. Boise State are winners even when they are in a down year with no defensive athletes.
The play.....
Boise ML
By the way Bowling Green is going to take Pitt to the woodshed Thursday.
This is where you lost your case. You wanted the 8-4 team getting +3

165...Your write up was a well written piece supporting your position and point of view... one that MANY on this site could learn from. Some will...most wont.
Here's hoping you will shed the flak and continue to present the same quality effort we found in this thread.
Capping is similar to a bidding process...you cant win it if you don't submit it, but just because you submit it, doesn't mean you win it.
GL throughout the Bowl Season

Guys on Oregon State nice job. It was the correct play at hello and no excuses I made a bad pick. It's my first loss of the Bowl season and will have many more. Just hope I can give more winners than losers and give insight into why I am on a side. If you want to kill me for the loss go right ahead I'm not going to lose sleep over it. Merry Christmas everyone.

To those who disagree with me I like when you state a case. It's the only time you get a good discussion going in these threads nowadays. If you want to gloat after the game in my thread that's OK as well. We heard a bunch of different takes and always interesting to hear none the less.

I don't come in and bash after a loss unless the guy gave the GUARANTEE or EASY MONEY sheit.
I did want to bring up one thing that you didn't give much weight to. Not having there coach DID make a difference. There clock management and lack of bowl experience really showed up before half time. I had Ore St and the over. I really believe they cost me the over 63.5 with there horrible decisions.
Always come by your thread for your insight, and always will.
