what are the main reasons i should not hammer clemson +6 vs lsu? yes of course burrow is tremendous but what is lsu going to do that clemson will have a difficult time defending or attacking schematically? from a numbers perspective i honestly cant understand why i am almost getting a td here. and the public is hammering lsu as well.

You can't just look at things one way. What will Clemson do that LSU can't handle. LSU will win by at least 10. BTW, sometimes the public gets it right!!!

To me, it is very clear that recency bias is going to strongly affect public perception of this game...the line opened at LSU -3 and has moved to LSU -5.5 at Pinacle...-6.5 at Bovada...

People watched that LSU domination of Oklahoma and it created a bias toward LSU that has made the line shoot up...

There is only one way this can be perceived and that is as VALUE for Clemson...

The chances are HIGHLY likely that this game will not be a blowout and that the points could matter....especially should the line get to +7...

Im looking at the two games that were the closest score wise vs opponents. Bama and Auburn. 1 was a great offense (with a hobbling Tua and a not so typically great Alabama defense) and 1 was a great defense (freshman QB). Clemson is the most well rounded team out of any of their opponents. LSU didnt win either of those by more than 6. 

The reason I am not looking at it the other way is because I am getting 6 points. In fact, 3 more points than if this game was being played a month ago. Linesmakers are not wrong by this much in champsionship games. Perception is. The public is.  Line and situation wise this is reminiscent of Seattle vs Denver in the superbowl. Seattle opened as -1 and ended up +3. We know what happened.

Congrats on the wins with Clemson and UVA... This has been my best bowl season of my career.  My only major losses are FAU/SMU and USC TT over 26 (terrible beat after Slovis gets injured start 3Q and USC doesnt score again....  but since then I've won most of my major bets (LSU 1H TT O16.5, Pitt 1h TT over 16.5, LSU -13, UNC -5, Clemson -2, UVA over 20 TT)  

 

 

I see a lot of Ohio State backers who are trying to diminish the Clemson victory by pointing out that all of the official reviews were called in Clemson's favor (All correctly imo)  However I havent heard any of them bring up what was the biggest play in the 1st half.  (Clemson's first drive starts with a 9 yard Etienne run, then a 21 yard pass to Higgins, and Clemson is driving... Then after an obvious offsides Clemson has a free play and Lawerence throws a 30 yard pass to Higgins who is being doubled by Okudah and Fuller.... Higgins completely owns both defenders and somehow comes down with an unbelievable catch, but about 2" of his left foot were out of bounds.)  The Higgins injury cant be overstated, they're a completely different beast when he's available... The loss was only magnified when Justyn Ross was on the sideline for significant snaps after dealing with multiple injuries... Clemson's offense was playing left handed but were still able to pull out the win, by having QB Trevor Lawerence lead the team in rushing, and Travis Etienne leading the team in recieving yards....

You nailed it... very well said.

People never said anything about the pick six Kavon Wallace dropped in the 2nd quarter or the pick Kendricks dropped.

Ohio st only had 2 turnovers but should have had 4 ints...


Here is the truth... Clemson is dominating college football and people are sick of it. I said it a few years ago and I'm still saying it today, Clemson is the new GIANT in college football. Beating Alabama AGAIN last year for the title was a " passing of the torch " moment.....


Ohio st was soooooo good... I give them TONS of credit. I did before the game and after...But Clemson is just a little better.

Keep this in mind... Clemson has played in 4 of the last 5 national championships... They were dogs in ALL of them

 the lack of respect for Clemson as a non-Sec team at the top of college football is reflected in the line--even last year they were getting close to a touchdown---if the line is more than +3 (which it already is), I will gladly hammer it-at +5 at my book at present! great sweep yesterday-good luck Boom!

Another take would be a lack of respect for Ohio St and the big ten.  The way LSU has won (offense) will always stick with the public.  I have not decided on the game yet but imagine if the line was less than 3?  I'm not sure a whole lot of money comes in on Clemson based on the way LSU has won.  

I believe this championship game will be an instant classic.  an_light
