It’s been another profitable year & we are all blessed, let’s have some fun & do our best to find the money

I’ll be around until Tuesday this week & then out on Vaca for 5 or so days

Playoff Prediction
1. Bama
2. Clemson
3. Notre Dame

Agree with those rankings. Hate it for UGA as I believe they are one of the 4 best teams and deserve to be in the final 4. However, as long as OU is the team that displaces them, that's not totally bad. Kinda feel like it should be Bama vs ND and Clemson vs. OU tho, think ND is the worst team of the 4.

It’s a tough thing, that’s why we need to expand to at least a “play in” game

OU wins their league & has a 3 point loss to a top 15 team & an elite offense

Uga played awesome today but they lost by 20 to LSU, it’s that simple to me

Ohio St lost by 30 to a .500 team, they can’t be in

I don’t see how they leave OU out

all of them are better than Notre Dame

Will be interesting to see what unfolds tomorrow

I want OU in for betting reasons , other than that I don’t care what they decide

I agree. I actually think it is kind of easy, despite all of the noise. UGA had their chance tonight, and they didn't get it done. With OU winning an avenging their only loss, that 20 point LSU loss looms very large. OSU couldve won 100-0 tonight and would not have deserved to be in in my opinion. Their body of work is just garbage. I do wish they would force ND to affiliate, similar to what they've done in basketball. It technically should have prob been Clemson vs ND tonight. With OSU's horrible resume and how things shook out today, I think the selections are pretty cut and dry. (obviously I'm not a fan of expansion) Personally, I've always said they should've kept the BCS and let it decide the 4 best teams, name me a time when the BCS got the top 4 wrong. If UGA jumped in, I wouldn't be mad bcz they are clearly one of the 4 best, but most of the country would be up in arms. However, if OSU somehow jumps OU or UGA, that is a load of sh**. They get waaaayy to much credit for spanking a vastly overrated Mich team (that really should have lost to this NW team) I also think ND should be #4 as they are clearly the most desirable opponent of the contenders.

Bama and Clemson are miles ahead of the rest. Clemson are moving into genuine form at just the right time. Bama simply refuse to lose

You could throw a blanket over the next ten pretenders. They’re all scrabbling in the dust for pennies

Is it time for an Elite Eight?  Why not, if you can expand the World Cup to 48 teams.....

I would love to see OU sneak in.  Major bet against potential there.

Definitely time to expand.  We all know it's coming.  The old system was far better, but whatever.

Bama and Clemson are miles ahead...no doubt.  I think Clemson may be the team to beat.

OU sneak in? They will be in period. And why would Georgia be in with 2 losses? My top 4 is the same as Wahoo-

Clemson should work N Dame pretty good and OU will give Saban’s defense legitimate trouble- too bad the Sooners can’t play defense but with a little luck and hopefully a turnover or two, they could stun Bama!

They got it pretty close to where they want it.

Alabama - most of the Dirty South

Oklahoma - Texas and fly overs

Clemson - maybe some of the east, Nascar, and Dirty South stragglers

Notre Dame - parts of both East and West Cost

Forgot football stuff for a second, not at all surprised if they put Ohio St in.  Demographics would be better, you won't lose Texas because they love football but you would pick up the East Coast.  Ohio St has double the alumni that OU does, at least.

GrHeard a lot of "uga isn't even a conference champ" last night. Of course, Alabama almost wasn't either and nobody suggested they weren't  in with a loss.

I have no dawg in this fight, but I have a hard time not noticing that Oklahoma finished the regular season by giving up 46 to Texas Tech, 47 to Ok State, 40 to Kansas (no, really; I checked; this actually happened), and 56 to WVU.  As impressive as the OT win over Army is, I would note that Georgia played four games against teams ranked higher than any team OU played, winning two of them, and damn near winning a third.

Could a team with a great offense not be the best team in the nation?  If a team had the best defense in history where it never allowed more than 7 points but also never scored more than 14, would they be deserving?  My point is a team such as Oklahoma could still be the best team in the nation even if their defense allows 60 per game so long as their history making offense out scores teams.  So who cares what their defense allows so long as the offense is making up for the difference. Is that not what a great team does?

All done with our meal, Check please

this scenario would bring happiness to me

the thing that gets lost in betting & on this forum is “matchups”, Georgia simply matches up great with Alabama because the teams are built similar & know one another, Kirby pressured Tua & he looked like a conf USA QB all of a sudden, it is all about how teams match up with one another, it was a familiar venue against a conference opponent with two coaches that are alike, period

As an example, I’d take Ohio St over Georgia as an underdog with a month to prepare, 90% of our forum would take Georgia, Urban would run circles against Kirby & his defense would look more like it did vs Mich than it did vs a spread team, again , matchups

I’m sure some onlookers will argue (of course) but I’m just pointing out the “flaw” of looking at yesterday’s sec champ game as a measuring stick

no emotions, no ties, just money

They totally could be; and, I think it's fair to note that a team that scores all the time is likely to give up more than a team that grinds out drives, because it is going to have to play a lot more defense after all of the kicking off and stuff.  It's not like we're talking about any bad teams here.  We wouldn't be talking about them if they were. I'm just a "body of work" guy, and I just don't see OU having a better one than UGa (or Ohio State, for that mater, and I hate Ohio State).  What's the best win, Texas?  Meh.  OT against Army?  Life and death with Texas Tech and OK State?  Just not feeling it.  That said, they'll be in the playoff, so I guess I had better start feeling it.  Of course, the fly in the ointment is ND, who nobody thinks is one of the best 4 teams in the country.  ND especially bugs me because they played one real road game all year - at VPI.  The others were either neutral site (Navy in San Diego) or essentially split crowd (Northwestern, USC, Wake).  Nice work if you can get it.

And looking forward to this tread.

was the only correct decision in my view

now we can discuss betting & not who’s in, I knew who was in last night, hence the prediction, writing was on the wall

Now look at the matchup , a few fun notes

1. You get the best offense in the country (by metrics but arguable)
2. You get the best defensive mind in football (Nick)
3. They both have a month to prepare
4. Nick had 2 weeks to prepare for LSU & they scored 0
5. Nick has a month to prepare for Lincoln & OU & they will score more points on Bama than anyone did all season, scheme scheme scheme & it works on everyone including Bama
6. Bama can give up over 30 & still win by 20 in this one, certainly capable of scoring a ton on OU d
7. Over any number in the 60-70’s on my radar

let the games begin
