I cannot truly understand why people continue to complain, bitch, and moan about things they cannot change...
I'm a Buckeye fan through and through. Are they the best college football team in America? I don't believe so. When they were ranked number 1, were they the best team in America, again, I didn't think so, but I'm not going to argue with the polls and BCS rankings b/c I have no influence on them. Take what you can get mentality.
That same mentality holds true this week. OSU can take a spot in the BCS Title game with a Oklahoma or WVU loss. Is it fair? According to the BCS rankings it is b/c they're ranked 3rd overall and they would have to slide either into the number 2 or number 1 slot yet again.
If I knew why OSU played YSU, Akron, and Kent, I'd tell you, but I don't. For most intelligent Buckeye fans, we think the games are bullshit, we'd love to see OSU maybe take on a few non-conference middle tiered teams (TCU, Maryland, Utah, etc). I wouldn't mind playing Akron or Kent, if we played our other 2 non-conference against teams like the ones I mentioned above. Again, we don't make those decisions.
The Big 10 is nowhere near as strong as the SEC. I agree with the fact that is continually brought up about the SEC pounding on one another which leads to their top teams having more losses than weaker conference teams and missing out on computer points, top rankings, etc.
That is just simply a product of the conference they play in. Should there be a wrench thrown into the BCS formula that takes into effect conference strength? I don't think it's a bad idea but I don't think it would ever happen.
So for everyone bitching and moaning about Ohio State shouldn't be anywhere near the title picture, why do you continue to argue? You and I cannot do a thing about it. I agree we have some fucking losers as fans and that can give us a bad name, and I know that's why the majority hates OSU, but the people you should be pissed with are the pollsters and the BCS people.
Whatever happens this weekend is the bi-product of not having a clear cut team go unscathed through the regular season. The rankings will ultimately determine the title game. USC is playing unreal football right now but there is no such thing as the "Playing Great Late In The Season Poll" otherwise they'd be no.1.
