DOUBLE DUDE ... yeah buddy MAC is so wild .. almost had Miami OH making the champ game and had them to win at 33-1, think it was a 2xp away from getting to the game .. Can't believe how Toledo and W.Michigan bombed last year, just can't put any stock in the pre-ssn rankings ..
Almost have to put something on Miami OH if the odds are juicy enough, juicier the better I don't care what the previews say for them anymore ..
Other than that only real blind trust I have in the whole conference is in McElwain .. only so many MAC coaching groups have ever even put a defense together and his are holding teams under 4/carry all 3 years .. we've seen enough of his offenses to feel good he gets the right mix of guys they'll outperform again like last year .. 6-1 down the stretch could very easily have ended up in the champ game last year played Mizz tough and then lay the smackdown on wash state in the bowl game they weren't even supposed to be in lol ..
Yeah hope the preview outlook is not great for the Chips and maybe take a shot but I doubt books will appease .. I think the move with them is see if there's a rocky start vs OK.St, Penn St, even S.Bama could show up and give them an L if they're improved on a few things .. then trip to Toledo to start conf .. very possible they start 1-4 (W vs Bucknell) before they start making their run .. I'm guessing we'll be lucky to get 5-1 pre-ssn but look to bet them in-ssn before conference starts maybe losses pile up we get 8 or 10? .. and again if they lose to Toledo who knows could get juicy .. rockets also w roadies to W.Mich and N.ill, and even Buff which can be a tricky place .. plenty of spots to lose even if they can catch C.Mich at home early ..
However based on recent history I'd say champ game showdown is E.Michigan vs Bowling Green lol .. we'll see ..

Let me volunteer something way out there. Any chance we want to look at BG? Top returning production in the league, the team showed flashes of improvement, had good coaching (Minny upset was an awesome gameplan), and may actually have a decent defense.

Really hope they have the QB job to the local guy ( Meyers ) ...He played decent before injury....
Appears they have lots of holes to pug , but the staff did a nice job in the portal and recruiting ( believe on paper it's their highest rated ever ?) ....
Been tough this season finding all the spring games...Several schools put them up and quickly pulled them down like the power 5 schools are scared ( well maybe Minnesota is lol ) ....
Miami Ohio should be chalky in the East, but there might be a longshot worth some coins to win the division....
Here's the updated SP+ with ret pro %'s .. (from 5-23) .. Good to kick off the convo but could be costly puttin too much stock in Bill C's MAC #'s .. Toledo far and away the model king again .. they actually declined 4 points from 2021's final rtg's to arrive at being over a TD fav over the rest of the conference! .. on that note N.ILL IMPROVES by 3 pts over LY to only arrive at (a fairly unsolid) 3rd place rating .. SP+ Model is a real Truther when it comes to adjusting itself to reality huh?!? ..
BG def looking for a big year too they are just a HFA away from battling for 2nd place!! .. they and Tol are the only teams with Def SP+ ratings under 30 .. BG 29, TOL 20 ..
Ball state loses a ton on offense but still has some of those good wide outs yo-heinz and the other guy so maybe surprise us if they find quality QB/RB combo again..

Would love to hear DUB's take on the BG Crew this year .. if they are legit middle of the pack strength-wise then should be a realllly sweet deal on their RSW whenever that comes out. The 'usually decent' MAC teams are all around the 3TD dog mark like CMU +21 vs OK.ST, Miami +20.5 vs UK (woah might need to take UK in that one!!), Buffalo +21 vs MD .. BG opened +32 vs UCLA before getting bet down to 27 so good chance books will rate them 7-10 points lower than SP+ in the RSW calc .. Maybe put them at like 3-4 wins? .. Hopefully see conf/div futures soon too they are set up nice w the prime rib of their division at home: Buff, Miami, Kent St .. Akron/Ohio division roadies .. x-division get W.Mich home and CMU/Toledo roadies .. just a good schedule to make a run .. lotta that 'could be' value baked into these guys .. 30 or 40-1 on them for the conference wouldn't surprise me, def shop around some books been putting out insane conf futures already vanish quickly..

Looking to cash some BIG MAC FUTURES this season ...
Bowling Green has sone value , but I'm not sure they'll have enough talent to win rhe Division...They do have a nice chunk returning , and also did well on paper in the transfer portal ....At long confernece odds they might be worth a few coins but I presently have them anywhere from 5th to 2nd in the East .....( Much more on them to follow ) ...Falcons might be a team with way more value on weekly ATS wagering than futures...Oddamkers appear to be already showing they like Bowling Green dropping the Week 1 spread 5.5 points at UCLA .
I'll be ready to pounce on some MAC futures the moment they're released here in WNY ...

I'm trying my hardest to not fall in love with Bowling Green 
....They should be much improved with so much coming back ... That being said I'd make Miami Ohio a clear chalk at the top to win the East , but after that it could be wide open, honestly no result would shock me 1-6....While the Falcons have 4/5 of the O lie returning I'm deeply concerned they just cant run block ... Had high hopes for them last year after they pulled the stunner at Minnesota , and then they turned right around and lost at lowly Akron....
LOVE the head coaching hire at Akrron , Morehead could immediately be one of the best coaches in the conference...Could see the Zips being much more competitive right off the bat ..Irons might be a real diamond in the rough....
Kent St lost their star Qb ,much of the Oine and a ton off its top tacklers ..Should be addition by subtraction on defense though..That Defense was absolutely horrible ..Schlee got enough burn last year at QB , his WRS could be the best in the MAC , and the 3 headed RBS are top notch as well ...They're my clear 2nd choice in the East , and might have some value .
Buffalo has some major holes to fill , but they can only be better than 4-8 , right?
The Bobcats are the only spring game in the East that I haven't seen ..Currently predict them last , but that could change before kickoff ..

Good stuff yeah tough to hitch the wagons to anyone at this point .. Think much my first question for every team especially G5'ers and others with lower ret pro and uncertainty: What do the roster numbers look like? .. ourlads rosters and depth charts are a great starting spot and while G5 is not as well filled in for them we can see Buff has ALOT of empty space on theirs from their starter/backup departees and they only show us 88 on their roster .. That and they lose a real stud like McDuffie and we see Leipold came back for a couple more guys, Mizzoo also grabbed a couple, funny feeling they were snagging duds away from them .. Thats the thing about Liepold his recruiting ratings were always terrible but the guy just knew what he wanted and how to develop them .. gunna be a big test for the coaches having to fill out the 2-deep with their own guys ..
Anyway mighta seen that DK dropped us some RSW's .. its only a $50 max, at least mine is, but good for us to see where their starting off at .. some of these mighta moved already but this should be around their opening number .. also don't have N.ILLINOIS .. maybe someone in a diff state can check on that for us?... Definitely not going out on too many limbs here but I think its a little interesting putting C.Mich at 8, that should drop some the way they seem to maybe have roster troubles .. unsure if Toledo with 2 sure thing non-con wins only at 7.5, SP+ has them a TD above everyone, but they prob did last year too .. E.Mich QB went back to Cincy .. they got another guy?.. W.Mich / Ball St some of the worst ret pro in cfb, both could def be a bit high .. I'd take BG at that number and x my fingers if its around when I can actually play it ..

Bowling Green has a chance to win the East , while I put Miami Ohio at the top , no order of finish this season would be a shocker ( just like most years in the MAC ) ...The schedule shapes up nicely as they could be 2-0 in the MAC when Miami Ohio comes to town October 15th ...The Redhawks could be gassed after playing 2 pivotal division games at Buffalo , and hosting last year's East Champ Kent St ....I will also be placing money on the Falcons to win the division as well ( hoping for at least +5000) ....
Several more MAC futures to follow, waiting on Regualr season wins ....Will also have more Conference and division futures .
They should be very live going into that MAC schedule ...Wouldn't be suprised if the Division winner only went 4-4 in conference...5 wins might be a lock to play in the conference championship....
I was sweatng putting in 8 , $20 tickets at the sportsbook ...They've spooled ( change the odds after you try and submit the bet ) . me numerous times in the past
