COLORADO BuFFALOS + 7

Play #2 will be the Buffalos + 7 against Hawaii. I fully expect the Buffalos to win this game straight up, but I will take the +7 rather than taking a shot at the ML.

Colorado had a great year last year and even in their 4 losses they were very competitive. Record should have been a lot better than it was and they played a very strong Big 12 schedule.

Colorado brings back virtually all the starters from that team, so The Buffalos will have even a better year this year.

Conversely, Hawaii loses just about everything except Monitz. Hawaii wasnt even that good last year but their weak ass schedule resulted in a nice record.

Colorado will handle this game easily and probably win it outright.

Play #2 is Colorado +7

Yeah a lot of people will probably take Hawaii for those reasons.

Buffalos finished only 5-7 last year but as I said, in 4 of those losses they were competitive, could have been 9-3 but coulda woulda shoulda I guess.

Hawaii has not much coming back, so I will take the 7.

hawai will have a decent defense this year

 Colorado was dreadful against the pass last year, one of THE worst in the nation,110th passing def.(259.75 ypg) and 112th in pass eff. defense.  Now they must move on without starting CBs Jimmy Smith and Jalil Brown. You might think that that could be a good thing for a pass defense that bad, but both were NFL draft picks (Smith was a first rounder).  Hawaii meanwhile was #1 in the nation in passing offense (394.29ypg).

 Hawaii does have to replace virtually everyone around Moniz but this is still Hawai'i and they are going to be slingin' the ball all over the field and I don't think that the Buffs defense can do much about it.

What are you talking about?  Colorado had another terrible year again in 2010 and it doésn't look much better this time around either.

Colorado hasn't won a road game in 3 years.  Until they do so, I can't give them any credibility on the road (regardless of who they play).

It's possible they cover, but your reasoning is beyond hysterical.

You forgot, they also lost their coach Hawkins who obviously only cared about making his son the all-time leading passer in CU history.

Also Col doesnt play weak ass teams like Hawaii does yes they got blown out  AT OU AT CAL AT NEB AT MISSOURI and lost a close game AT Kansas; if Col played the creampuff schedule that Hawaii played last year their record would have been much different; Hawaii would be 0-4 against the same teams col lost to so comparing schedules is really futile and a stupid way to handicap games. It's like the this person beat this person beat this person way to cap games. It never works. Each game is played differently.

 I haven't liked what I've been reading in the UH papers/blogs and now this (copied from my post in the injuries thread earlier);

Hawai'i - Has lost 2 starters due to suspension for the Warriors opener against Colorado. OLB Aaron Brown and WR Darius Bright were involved in a fight late last night in Waikiki.

This is a rather signifigant development as Bright (6'3" 230) who has 4.4 speed was the stretch WR on an offense that was already woefully short on expierience and depth. He will be replaced with Allen Simpson (5'7" 145). The defense is impacted greatly as well as their best player MLB Cory Paredes will now have to switch to OLB and he will be replaced by 5'11" sophmore George Daily-Lyles. Brown (6'1" 220) is a senior who was 2nd team All WAC LY.

 This news combined with a less than positive week of practice and there is no way that I can back Hawai'i now. Good luck with your Buffs.

Good points you make Handicapper33, 29, and vegas cruncer 1. I didnt have a lot of time to do a long write up so I just put the main points.

Still like you guys say, Hawaii should not being laying 7 points against Colorado. I know the game is in Hawaii this year but Col kicked their ass last year. This is much the same Colorado team and Hawaii lost much of their team.

Game is in Hawaii, but I will still take the better teamand the TD even though I am on the road.
