IMO, you have to pull yourself away from the jerseys, grey helmets, marching band and buckeye leafs. The history of the program is great, but the players are not. Much like Michigan last year, who vegas kept giving small lines to, but then would get fucking crushed by teams like MSU, PSU, Wisky, etc. People just assumed that those guys in the winged helmets would step up, and they never did. The lines on those games above where +3, +3 and +4. Mich got run in every game.
I see that same thing with OSU this year. If I get past the uniforms, dotting the "I" and Brutus running around the field, my eyeballs tell me that OSU can't stay within 3 points. Even good OSU teams have had trouble with Ill. Scheelhaase isn't bad and AJ Jenkins is solid. All they have to do is score a couple/3 TD's and that may be enough. Yes. Ohio State's defense is good, but when they are put on the field time after time, they are going to get worn down, plain and simple. Take last week for example. Everybody here in Cbus was pissed b/c their defense folded. Ironic how they folded when Bad-serman came in the game and couldn't pick up a first down. I don't care how good your defense is; if you throw them out on to the field consistently, with no breaks, they are going to get tired and thus get beat.
I personally don't think Miller is going to play remotely close to the way he did last week. For whatever reason, Nebraska didn't blitz Miller (have no fucking clue why?), but when MSU did, the kid folded. Nebraska's game plan failed and failed miserably. The kid had all kinds of time to throw (although he didnt). What he did do was pull the ball down and run. That won't happen this week if Zook is smart (which is up for debat). I think ILL stacks the box, fills running lanes, and make Miller throw the ball. Something he just can't do right now. He just not polished enough.
My personal opinion is; Miller and OSU will struggle once again on offense, and while OSU's defense will start off strong, in the end, they will be on the field WAY TOO LONG throughout the game and eventually will give up too many plays. I can most definately see Illinois winning this game by more than 3.
(With that said, I stopped betting on or against Ron Zook a long, long time ago. He has boggled my mind for years. He wins the games you expect him to lose and vice/versa. He has ALWAYS been a very unpredictable coach, with very unpredictable teams. He is the exact opposit of Nick Saban).

Bauserman or Miller. I don't think it matters. In today's game, you have to have a legit QB to win ball games. It is an absolute necessity.
Miller can't throw. At all.

Bausserman might be the worst qb in the big 10, so scared to throw down field then throws the worst short pass to open men. No way in hell Illinois loses this game. AJ Jenkins over the top all day and that Illini D will most def shut down anything Ohio St hopes to get started. I actually have a feelingt his game gets ugly late since this will be Illinois signature home game to show thier 6-0 record is no fluke.

You have to be joking
Not to say Miller is the best QB OSU has ever had, but he's head and shoulders better than Bauserman. Did you not see JB throw 2/3 of his passes into the 10th row of the stands against Nebraska? Miller can tuck it in and run, almost had 100 yards on the ground last week.....all JB does is lock on his first receiver, get sacked, or throws a "what the hell was that" pass to a defender or a young kid in the stands with a buckeye jersey on.
OSU will have trouble against Illy, and have a tough time winning outright....but saying who is starting QB doesn't matter is laughable.

Easy there Cherokee. Yes. I watched the entire game last week, and all season. And yes, Bauserman is horrid to say the least. But even you said about Miller "he can tuck and run". .. But that's all he can do.
My point is; if Miller is in the game, Illinois is going to force him to throw, thus taking his "tuck and run" away...
Trust me, I understand Bauserman is awful and Miller has 10x the upside, but the kid isn't polished as a passer. And until he is, I personally don't think him running around is going to happen like it did at Nebraska. He will be forced to throw, and right now he can't.. That's all I'm saying... The offense will be 3 & out alot in this game, no matter who the QB is (in my opinion).
BTW. I will be watching the Buckeyes on Saturday with the guy in your picture...

They play PSU at home. If they can "hang on" vs MSU, then they have a punchers chance vs PSU. I mean really, its just sad watching Joe Pa anymore. The guy is in the Press Box without his glasses on... what exactly is he watching?
That game may finish 3-0.

Really? One of the scariest men to ever suit up for the Buckeyes.
Give Brax a couple years and he'll be fine....being thrown to the wolves your frosh yr is no easy task.

I agree. Before all the shit went down with Pryor, Miller was suppose to come in and sit behind him, watch & learn. He's been thrust into a position before he was ready.
Yea. Andy & I are good friends. He owns and runs a gym here in Cbus.
