Yes, absolutely!!! I think this game will look very much like the Temple/Wyoming game on Saturday. With the extra time to prepare Southern Miss' defense should be able to pretty much shut the Wolfpack offense down. I don't think we'll see Nevada scoring over 17 points in this game. I really don't think this is a close game. 3-4 TD victory for Southern Miss if they come to play.

FIU vs. Marshall
It looks like FIU coach Mario Cristobal has excepted the head coaching position at Pitt.
I have been on Covers touting Mario Cristobal as an excellent head coach for 3 years now, and have bet on FIU frequently over that period of time. Before the season began (or early in the season can't remember exactly which) I posted that I was surprised that some prominent programs had not taken notice of this guy. I guess we now see that they finally have.
Cristobal taking the Pitt job is very interesting given that he was born, raised and pretty much lived his whole life in the Miami area. He played at the U and played against Alabama for the national championsip in the 1993 Sugar Bowl. Other than a brief stint at Rutgers, he has lived, played and coached his entire life in the Miami area, and there is a gigantic difference between Miami and Pittsburgh. I wonder how he'll adjust?
Cristobal is an icon in the Miami area, and his players absolutely love him. I'm quite sure the players already know he has taken the Pitt job, but if they don't, they will before kickoff. I think Cristobal's imminent departure will be a gigantic motivating factor for the FIU players. That said, Marshall is also very, very motivated to get a bowl win.
I have Marshall in all of my confidence pools, but was not planning on betting this game. I think I'll stick to my guns and sit this one out. Admittedly I'm not quite as confident in Marshall as I once was.

The only way there are 5 TDs scored in this game is if 2 or 3 of them are non-offensive. Certainly could happen, but I would not bank on it.

Alabama won't score much I don't think, but I'm pretty sure that LSU's offense will score even less. Note that I stress "offense." I can't predict if there will be non-offense TDs off of returns in the kicking game or turnovers.
LSU simply has nothing on offense that they can really hurt Alabama with. Alabama completely shut down the passing game last time and will do so again. The only place LSU had any success was attacking the perimeter of Alabama's defense. Alabama will have an opportunity to rep against their perimeter option/running attack for 4 weeks. Even so I still think LSU will have some success on the perimeter because they do such a good job of blocking out there. By success I mean they'll get some 1st downs, but probably not TDs.
I will honestly be surprised if LSU's offense scores an offensive TD in this game. If they do it won't be more than one. I expect LSU to score somwhere between 0-10 points. I think Alabama will score somewhere in the 13-20 point range. I expect to see a final of 13-3, 16 -7 . . . something along those lines. Regardless, this game will never threaten the OVER.

Southern Miss is definitely one of my favorite plays of the bowl season.
I can't argue with a play on FIU too much.
I "like" La. Tech at +10 or better, but do not "love" them.

Ok, after this line dropped to 8.5 last night, it is back to my magical number of 10. Previously in this thread I said I would play Louisiana Tech for 1 Unit if I could get them at +10 without having to buy any points. So . . .
Louisiana Tech +10 (or better) vs. TCU *** Small 1-Unit Play ***
Also locked in:
Nevada vs. Southern Miss -6 *** Best Bet ***
Will add more plays soon. I will look at the Arizona State/Boise State game a little closer between now and tomorrow. I lean ASU +14.

With all the player issues heading into this game, I'm going to jump on the first half UNDER.
Adding:
Louisiana Tech +10 (or better) vs. TCU (UNDER 28 1st Half) *** Regular 5-Unit Play ***
Stay tuned for possible halftime plays.

I said pretty much the same thing earlier in this thread. The ONLY thing that worries me about this game is that it's being played on the island. I pretty much have a policy of NEVER betting on island games.
That said, Southern Miss is better than Nevada in every facet. If the Golden Eagles come to play, this shouldn't be a close game.

I pretty much agree with your TD prediction except I would say 1-3 TDs. Your score prediction of 21-17, however, pre-supposes that 5 TDs will be scored.
There is no chance that Dee Hart will see the field in a game of this magnitude. Cyrus Kouandjio, on the other hand, will be a huge addition to the OL rotation. He missed the first LSU game.
