Like everyone else, I'm jacked up about college football kicking off in a few days.
I can't express enough how much I loathe keeping track of my record throughout the season, because it really doesn't mean anything to me. The only thing I care about is my account balance. I started keeping track of my record a few years ago because quite a few people requested that I do so.
Let me be clear. I keep track of my record only. I do not track units or whatever else some wants me to track. You know why??? Because I don't give a shit. Again, the only thing I really care about is my account balance. So you if want to track something other than what I track, which is wins and losses, please feel free to knock yourself out. Just don't expect me to do it for you.
Although I don't strictly adhear to this model, this is what my terminalogy translates to:
Regular Play - 1 Unit
Best Bet - 5 Units
Max Bet - 10 Units (at least)
I'm going to track a new catagory this season called Underdog Monelines or UDMLs.
If someone who is smarter than me whats to see what my final record was last season (regular season), it can be found in my bowl thread. If I knew how to find it I would. Be that as it may, I believe ended the season just a hair over 60% for my regular plays, about 67 % on my "Best Bets," and I was 1 & 0 on my only "Max Bet" game of the season. Overall I had a great season. I'd be happy to do as well this season.
This is the part where I usually explain how I bet games, but I won't do it this week becasue I have a "Max Bet" game in week 1. When I have a "Max Bet" game that means every game I bet will be parlayed with my max bet game. My reasoning is that if I have a game that I'm 99% certain will cover, then making a straight bet on other games besides my "Max Bet" game is essentially a waste of money. I may as well parlay it. Other than the benefit of a significantly higher payout, parlaying also gives me two other distict advantages. First I pay no vig if I lose the bet on my other game, and secondly by putting the game in a parlay I can buy points as needed without paying additional vig. I only lose a little payout on the back end.
Lastly, because I have a "Max Bet" game, I will be betting a whole lot fewer games on Saturday than I normally do. Basically what I'm doing this week is betting only my "Best Bet" and "Max Bet" games. Again, this is not how I bet on a typical weekend.
What I'm going to do is list all the games I'm going to bet individually at the price I am betting them in my parlay. At the end of the week I will calculate my record as individual games, not as parlays (which is what I always do anyhow). I hope y'all aren't totally confused at this point!!!
Nevertheless here we go.
Thusday Night Games
South Carolina -6.5 @ Vanderbilt
South Carolina @ Vanderbilt UNDER 22.5 (1st Half)
Washington State UDML @ BYU (Price unknown at this time)
Friday Night Games
Boise State @ Michigan State -6.5
Boise State @ Michigan State UNDER 22.5 (1st Half)
Saturday Games
Marshall @ West Virginia - 23.5 (Hook) *** Best Bet ***
Clemson -2.5 (Hook) vs. Auburn *** Best Bet ***
Clemson vs Auburn UNDER 27.5 (1st Half) *** Best Bet ***
Michigan vs. Alabama - 13.5 *** Max Bet ***
*** Note: Alabama is a "Max Bet" game at anything under 14
If I bet anything on Monday or Tuesday, I will add at a later time. Obviously if I bet a Monday or Tuesday game those games won't be parlayed with the Alabama game.
Best of luck to all . . . especially those who are on my games
