Right angle and dr bob both have that.. Still I hate illinois such a bad program...
Southern illinois could beat Purdue though!
Purdue has reached all time low!!
Little bit on illinois for me... Just bc they are on it worth a pkay
Illinois snapped a 9-game losing streak last week by beating Southern Illinois in very unimpressive fashion. They held on for a 42-34 victory when a 4th and goal Saluki pass sailed out of the end zone in the waning seconds of the game. The natives have been voicing their displeasure over the victory all week.
There are indications that the coaching staff was doing a lot of experimentation, as they did get down to playing the 3rd string QB. O'Tool was in for a grand total of one play, and managed to commit a delay of game penalty and fumble the ball away to Southern Illinois.
I can't back this team against any competent opponent right now. RAS got a great line @ +10.5. Not sure where Dr. Bob bought in, but all I can say is both have some large nuts to back the Illini right now. The game screams stay away to me, but if I had to play it, I would take Cincy at any line of 7 or better.

Jimmy . I thought about posting my own thread here but we have almost exactly the same picks 2 weeks in a row. Anyway, since we must think somewhat alike I thought I would mention - I disagree with South Carolina. I think UNC was about 5 dropped passes from a tie game last week. South Carolina lost 7 of their top 10 tacklers last year and you could definitely see it last week - UNC was just not executing when they had the chance. On the flip side of the ball, UNC's defense gave up around 30 points a game last year and had two players go in the first round of the draft, so we knew they were going to suck. In other words, SC did absolutely nothing to impress me last week and I think they are one of the most overrated teams this season (luckily their schedule is easier than usual). Georgia comes in after getting beat by an ACC team, so of course the public opinion of them should be down a little, but they still open favored. I may not play the game either way, but to me it seems like UGA is a legit favorite.
Georgia is probably the most motivated team in the country this week. But Georgia will still have Mark Richt on the sideline South Carolina will have Spurrier, and that is a huge coaching mismatch.
I think you are making a mistake by over-analyzing the UNC game. Once South Corolina had an insurmountable lead, they basically packed it in. Georgia is a completely different animal.
Obviously this is a winnable game for Georgia. It's not like the have no shot, because certainly they do. But I have a hard time believing that Spurrier won't coach circles around Richt again. Muschamp will do the same when Georgia plays Florida.

That is a game that caught my eye early on. I definitely feel that the line is a bit of an overreaction to USF's week 1 performance, and I also don't trust Michigan State to cover that kind of number against very many teams. USF is the only side I would bet.

Hi Jimmy - just started reading your post - think it's great to see so many great football minds here.
What are your thoughts on laying 27 with Oregon State? Hawaii is an awful team, especially on the road. I can see Oregon State looking to redeem itself after its embarrassing performance last Saturday night. To me, Hawaii seems like the perfect team for them to lay a real good beating on. I think they could be up 5 TDs at halftime.
Your thoughts (and everyone else's) are appreciated.
Thanks
I agree that Hawaii is fade material on the mainland, but I'm not sure Oregon State should be laying 4 touchdowns to anyone right now. If I made any play in this game, it would be the OVER.

Hey Jimmy, BOL this week...always enjoy your insight
Not sure if someone asked already....but any thoughts/feelings on the Baylor over? We all know how potent their offense is and Buffalo showed they can put up points as well.....curious what you think.
Thanks and GL this week
I like the OVER as well. It would be the only bet I would make in that game.

I really appreciate your picks Jimmy, keep up the excellent analysis.
I know you like the Indiana game OVER, do you also like them to cover? I got them at -13.
Any thoughts on Arizona beating UNLV spread? I bought a half point, -9.5 and I liked that number.
Thanks again for what you do, and BOL this weekend.
I have thought about laying points with Indiana, but I'm not crazy about the play. Betting service academy games is a different animal, and I consider Indiana to still be inexperience at defending the triple option. That means Navy should score quite a bit - something OVER bettors are obviously counting on. If I bet a side in the game, it would be Indiana, but I don't think it's a strong play.

JDF, thanks for the response, and in general the analysis on this thread. It's one of the best threads on covers. My analysis kinda sucks, so I'll try to contribute to this thread with pics of your avatar girl.

Wake Forest might be one of the worst teams in all of college football. Their QB is beyond awful and only have myself to blame for following you on such a terrible pick. Sorry for the hate, but took a shot on you with this pick against my better judgment and will make up for it on Sat and Sunday though!!
My top two plays of the night were winners. If you would have played my card they way I have recommended See Post #1, you would be up 2.9 units heading into Saturday like I am.

Hey Jimmy, as I mention before this was the time for BC, i never saw WF as a good candidate for your pick. I think this time BC was a clear candidate to win this game, but of course they did what I consider it was on my mind...
Lets go for the next ones and kill them (sports book) I have a solid candidate for tomorrow...
MexiNCAA
You were proven correct. Excellent play!!! Games will like this will happen early in the season when teams aren't what you think they were.

hey jimmy I know you have a play on wazz but man the total looks awfully low when was a mike leach coach team only sitting at a 53.5 total
I did play wazzu on parlay cards but over looks really good to me
Wazzu's offense simply has not been very explosive under Leach so far. They only score 24 last week against a pretty bad defensive team. Couple that with USC's poor QB play, and I think it's a fair total.

Why are u whining? Today was a FUKKKKING WINNING DAY!!!!!!
It was better than that. I said UCF was very close to being a "Best Bet" for me, so I put 3 units on it. I put one each on Wake and the UNDER, and a half of a unit on the ML play. I also parlayed my top two plays. That's +3, +2.6, -1.1 and -.5. If you add the -1.1 from last night, I'm up 2.9 units heading into the Saturday games. I will try to be more clear on it in the future.
I also have Central Florida in two 2-team parlays, one 3-team parlay, and one 4-team parlay. Those results are still pending. So the Central Florida payout may be much higher before it's all said and done.

Nice hit on the under...That WF QB was definitely not the player I was thinking of. The guy I'm thinking of must play for some other team.
It wasn't the QB as much as it was that Wake simply got overwhelmed at the point of attack - on both sides of the ball. I clearly did not expect that big of a difference in the trenches. Tanner Price had absolutely no chance whatsoever.

I have to say that I don't know much about US college football, but I decided to follow your plays, since it seams you know what you're doing... Keep up the good job Jimmy.
One question - is Duke/Memphis OVER 53,5 still a play? or should I let it go since I'm little late to the party... ;)

Still a play. I think this game gets into the 60s.
