Awesome thread Jimmy. Kent State already has a game under its belt (underwhelming). This is S. Alabama's first game and it's at Kent State. Do you know the status of the KS running back?
The line is moving in your favor SA -3 now. Its tough to pull the trigger this early in the week, but I hope you win big my friend!

I think the Gators will most likely cover, but I can't bet it at the current line without seeing some body of work from Florida's offense. When you bet big spreads like this, pretty much everything has to go right. One crazy unforeseen play or score, and it usually kills bets like these.

Don't let the line scare you. I think USA wins this game convincingly. Buy it down to 2.5 if that'll help you sleep at night.

Wyoming absolutely punished this team in Colorado Springs last season, and they get almost everyone back this season. I really don't understand how Wyoming can be the dog this to Air Force in their own stadium this season.
I didn't make this play initially because the line seemed so out-of-whack. I was wondering if I was missing something. If I am, I can't find it.

The touts have been hitting Toledo hard all morning. Not sure why they're so infatuated with them. This seems like a game Missouri should win.
These two teams played @ Missouri last season, and Missouri won by 15. Now they are swapping venues, and the line is down to 4.5. Seems like an awfully big swing to me.
I looked at this game this morning, and decided to pass. Not sure where all the Toledo love is coming from, but at 4.5 with the option to buy it down to 4 seems like a solid play.

I followed Wyoming pretty closely last season and placed losing bets on them late in the season at least twice, so I'm intimately familiar with their late season tailspin. In fact last season's Air Force game was about the last good game they played.
There is no question the loss of senior QB Brett Smith is a huge loss for the Cowboys, but I have tremendous respect for their new head coach Craig Bohl. Bohl is a significant improvement over Dave Christensen IMO. Bohl is a guy who has a reputation and solid track record of winning with lesser talent.
We won't see the air show that we saw with Brett Smith, but what we will see under Bohl is a fundamentally sound football team that will play hard and won't beat themselves.
Beating a triple option team starts with defenders who are familiar with defending it, and that's exactly what Wyoming has - and they've had the whole off season to prepare for it. This game most certainly won't be the high-scoring blowout type game we saw last season, but I believe the better team on the field will once again be Wyoming. I'll be more than happy to put my money on the home dog here.

The number has held steady on the last 24 hours, but if it drops anymore, at some point it has to make sense to bet on Missouri. I suppose the best argument I can make against Mizzou is that they have to replace almost everyone from last season's team, and Toledo is returning largely in tact.
This game screams "stay away" IMO.

I'm seeing 37.5 on this game right now. That is a much more playable number.

Sparingly. Occasionally I'll play something I like. The NFL is largely a crap shoot.

First of all, even though I bet these two game for the same 3 units as my other "regular" plays, I consider my two late games the weakest two games on my card. Both of those probably should have been 1 Unit plays versus 3 Unit plays.
Personally I think Craig Bohl is a huge coaching upgrade for Wyoming. The coaching change brings a change in offensive philosophy however. Out is the spread offense and in comes a pro-style attack. That's one reason I'm not real concerned with the departure of last season's starting QB Brett Smith. I almost think it would be more problematic to change a spread QB like Smith into a pro-style QB this season than just starting anew with a QB that fits the system.
The concern is that Wyoming does not have the personnel on campus to run a pro-style attack - specifically a full back and tight end.
I will also say that this play is a departure from my long-standing policy of not betting on new coaching staffs early in the season. Typically I only fade new coaching staffs.
The reason I like this play is because Wyoming brings back a defense that is experienced in defending Air Force's option attack. They also have a coaching staff that is experienced at defending it. I also think that Wyoming has the better overall personnel.
Lastly I like the play because the oddsmakers have sufficiently baited the hook by giving points to what I consider the better team playing at home. So I may be a sucker for biting, but I bit.
Now to actually address your question. I placed my bet at the same line you are getting - Wyoming +2.5. In my opinion there are only two ways to bet this. Either buy it to +3, or play it on the moneyline. I chose to play Wyoming on the moneyline at even money.
In summation, if you choose to place a wager on Wyoming, please bet it small, smaller than I did. Hopefully by the time this game kicks off, we will have realized a healthy profit from the earlier games My favorite game of the week is South Alabama. Rather than betting this game you may want to consider putting a little extra down on them.
Best of luck with whatever you decide.
