Should be close, but S.Car.State Bulldogs have played against 3 decent opps in the same wheelhouse as Jackson State - and won both in close games.

Jackson state has not been tested that way. 

S.Car St has the benefit of 21 days rest/practice.

  MARSHALL likely backing OUT of their BOWL game vs ARMY Dec 28 due to the loss of their coach and a whopping 36 players entering the portal including all 3 QBs

Marshall is expected to withdraw from the Radiance Technologies
Independence Bowl, sources confirmed to ESPN on Saturday,
after a wave of players recently entered the transfer portal
in the wake of a coaching change.

The Independence Bowl would need to replace Marshall
with a 5-7 team, but many players on those squads
have left their campuses for winter break!

Marshall will be replaced in the game by Louisiana Tech,
which finished the regular season 5-7.
     The Bulldogs' proximity to the Independence Bowl,
with the school's Ruston, Louisiana campus only about
an hour away from Shreveport, Louisiana made them

Salute to Veterans Bowl

W.Mich is coming off a close win AT HOME to a weaker opp.  Prior to that they lost 3 straight and all were rated weaker than S.Alabama.

They have not played  any team in conference play that is rated near S.Alabama. Their 5 wins in FBS play are all against significantly weaker teams than S.Alabama.    They are 2 - 2 on the road in MAC con.

They are losing their top offensive receiver TE and best edge rusher/SACK man.

Jaguars will be playing a virtual home game in Alabama!

They are losing their TOP RB!!! ...but the backups are very solid!

Coming off a loss to an equal opp (but better than W.Mich!) ...so much more motivated to redeem themselves.

With the lone exception of Southern Miss, all their games were against opps rated at or BETTER than W.Mich. They are 2 - 2 at home vs those....includes opening game of season and their last game.

WMU will have a tougher time replacing their two opt-outs. S.Alabama will be fine at RB!
