I certainly agree that it isn't as clear cut as some of the chukklefukks in this thread seem to advocate, and I do think the author here makes some valid points for going for 2 on the first TD when down 15.......I think one critical point he misses is the psychological impact on the other team of kicking the XP and them believing that turning they are only ahead by one possession...I think that impacts the playcalling and intensity of the situation....there are a lot of great coaches that firmly believe that exerting as much pressure as possible on the other team to execute under the gun is key.....games are often lost as opposed to won....the "one possession" theory combines momentum and pressure to exert pressure on the other team to perform, or risk a tie scoring drive......my 2 cents
