major harris. poor guy played about 5 years too early. he would have been HUGE if he came around today. better than vick, vince young, mcnabb, culpepper, and steve young.

coolguy, good to see MH get a shoutout. The fact that I remember his run against Penn State from when I was 3 years old tells you how spectacular he was.
But I think that in terms of running, throwing, leadership, calmness under fire, pure guts and an absolute refusal to lose and a habit of taking over the toughest games singlehandedly, Pat White is still the best CFB player I've ever seen.
VY only had one really great year, but Pat White came in as a freshman and DOMINATED and looked like a 5th year senior in his first game.
I've never seen a Freshman or even a Sophomore QUARTERBACK as composed as Pat White has been the last two years.
Guys, this kid is only a Junior, and he should have won the heisman last year... when he's done, his name will be etched in the history books.

Glad to see Barry getting his props.
My frosh year at ostate was Barry's heisman season, what memories.
I'd have to give Vince Young the nod at QB, he won a title and was a much better passer than Frazier. Frazier could be included with any number of Zero U QB's notably Holieway and Thompson.
other RB would be Bo, just because of the jaw dropping ability.
Walker, Dickerson, Campbell and Sims all in Bo's class.
WR Tim Brown and Calvin Johnson.
Brown produced on the biggest stage.
Johnson the latest in a line of physical freaks, only QB Ball holding him back.
TE Keith Jackson hands down
OL i would be judging on pro careers, any number of 80's era Nebraska roid freaks would be put up a nice team.
DT Personal favorites Sapp and homer pick Kevin Williams.
KW is proving his worth as a pro. Singlehandedly produced OK ST's first victory over Nebraska since 61 by shoving their QB into their fullback ever play. Remember Ron Simmons FSU NG from about 76 was unblockable, Jerome Brown as well.
DE Lee Roy Selmon belongs on this list. Bruce Smith would crush johny come latelys, Freeney and Suggs.

Randle El was a quarterback at Indiana University, where he was considered one of the premier offensive threats in the Big Ten Conference and received some consideration for the Heisman Trophy (coming in 6th in Heisman voting) during his senior season, but he was widely regarded as having been handicapped by being one of the few very talented players on what was generally a mediocre and poorly coached team. Randle El was the first player in Division I history to pass for 40 career touchdowns and score 40 career touchdowns. He was the Big Ten Player of the Year in 2001, and was named the first-team All-American quarterback by the Football Writers Association of America. He finished his college career as the fifth on the all-time NCAA total yardage list, and became the first player in college football history to record 2,500 total yards for four consecutive years. He finished his career with 7,469 passing yards, 3,895 rushing yards, and 86 touchdowns running and passing. He is considered to be the most statistically productive dual-threat quarterback to ever play college football. He was drafted in the second round of the NFL Draft in 2002 by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Best? Herschel Walker easily
Best QB? Peyton Manning, Vinny Testaverde and Vince Young
Peyton may not have beaten Florida, but he cured the Alabama jinx and that was all that mattered to UT fans at the time. Not to mention, he made the right read 95% of the time (according to the other SEC Coaches).... Still, Vinny was so poised and so GOOD and Vince...well what can you say about him that hasn't been said??

Michael Allen Doss (born March 24, 1981 in Canton, Ohio) is an American football safety for the National Football League's Minnesota Vikings.

Doss attended McKinley High School whom he helped win back-to-back state titles, as well as a USA Today National Championship as a running back and safety. As a senior, he had 1,454 yards, 22 touchdowns, 111 tackles, and three interceptions and won all-state honors and an All-America honorable mention by USA Today.
Doss played as a starter at the Ohio State University where he started 40 out of 50 career games and was a three-time All-Big Ten selection and a three-time All-America choice by The Sporting News. He had 331 career tackles, eight interceptions, eight fumbles recovered, and six sacks. He started all 14 games as a senior and was a reason why Ohio State won the national championship against the University of Miami in the Fiesta Bowl where had nine tackles and one interception. He was also a consensus First Team All-America, a Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and a two-time semi-finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award.

It isn't all about Heisman's. As i stated earlier 31 consecutive 100 yeard games. I believe that is still a record. Over 5,000 yrads and was called by Woody Hayes the greatest back he ever coached or saw. But if u saw him play and we are speaking of college only then u really don't know much about the game to call him overrated. I saw him brake two three and foru tackles. And even though it is not all about the Heisman's in those days unlike now the voters saw the players play. Today ESPN declares someone the frontrunner and its over. The voters saw the top players and took pride in their voting. I can see an argument against being the best, but overrated. I used to think you knew a little about football Matador.
