What you guys are naïve about is the level of control a player has in college football. An offensive player never plays defense. Or special teams. You're only on the field HALF THE TIME (actually a little less). That means you can't control what happens in HALF THE GAME!
Think about it if you're the fixer. Your QB can be shitty. But what happens if the other team's QB is even shittier? Or the defense scores a bunch of TDs? You can't control that.
In basketball there's only 5 players and they play both offense and defense. Of course you could fix that easily. It happens all the time. And same w/ soccer. The goalie has so much more influence than a football QB.
The Hawaii QB story is the only one that might be possible. A fixer could count on huge odds so he won't care in case he loses. But I'd figure that massive bets on big underdogs raise lots of red flags with Vegas bookies.

i think
that goes to the refs, F'ckin refs.... did anyone remembers the Polamalu pick
six that was called off for no reason at all about 4-5 seasons ago???... and
the new penalties on NCAAF and NFL gives the refs more influence..

college football is bent as a nine bob note
you see it in the games where a team should
win by 21 but only wins by 7
its always the games that are stick out
too good to be true lines

I read up on this game b/c I was curious. Moniz threw 0 interceptions but fumbled 2X. And was constantly pressured all game. Hawaii had 2 other fumbles. And the Hawaii D gave up 40 points.
If the game was fixed, then the entire OL and Defense had to be on the fix as well. That's a lot of guys you need to keep quiet. Plus, who cares if he stepped into a casino? If a guy fixed a game, the LAST place he'd want to show up is a casino.
