UT has a “big” win at home against a trash team in USC. This game told us nothing about the team. They give up big plays on defense and cannot score on offense in a tight game.
TCU is off of a loss from OSU where they were actually leading at one point by more than one score. They’re going to come into Austin and put the hurt on the Longhorns. We have been losing the recruiting battle to these guys as well as OU and Texas A&M over the last few years, and we have done much less with the talent we have brought in
Im a homer. Love my Horns, but this is a bad spot and I still think Sam Ehlinger is trash and has no accuracy or touch. He’s basically Tim Tebow
Im putting $500 on TCU -3 and $500 on TCU first half, whatever it is. Horns get routed this weekend.

I completely understand your thinking - my 1st reaction too. Texas looked as bad as you can in smashing a team that was supposed to be good. But those Texas intra-staters have all kinds of weird voodoo going on....kind of like what went down in Ames last weekend. I think Patterson is a Top 5 coach who squeezes that talent very hard.....but wonder about a letdown - they think they shoulda beaten the Urbies.

if you guys were smart, you would pass on this game...there is better value on the board...After the Maryland debacle, I can not back my Longhorns...But, I know they have talent, plus they have lost 5 straight to TCU...TCU is coming off the emotional near miss against Ohio State...Everyone should stay away...

Good advice- that line stinks to high heaven- some odd lines this week- navy, Washington, all those seem several points off as well as this one- I can see TCU coming out flat, getting behind and then winning by 3 at the end pushing most bets

The line is definitely fishy, but I know this team. They will come out hyped, the stadium will be loud, and they will have some great first few possessions. But once TCU gets some big plays in, the crowd will come out of the game and everyone will be like “oh no, not again.” And it’ll just get worse for the Horns. They have the talent, but poor coaching, and they won’t be able to put together a game winning drive in the end.

I agree except UT still out recruits TCU at least based off of the recruiting service ratings. Patterson is getting better recruits now thoufh that don't need 2 years to develop, and he can still find those diamonds in the roufr.
It all comes down to coaching and the consistency with how the program is run whereas Texas has been changing. They still have the talent.
TCU still has a lot of holes to fill since losing 20 seniors last year. Texas has a ton of speed also on defense just like TCU. I love TCU young secondary this year and I imagine they will force Ehlringer to beat them passing and dare him to run. Their only hope is jump balls to their tall WR and hope young TCU QB Robinson makes some mistakes
I do question Herman, though, comparing Robinson to a young Kenny Hill. Lol. Did he even watch film on Robinson? That's the last person I'd compare him too.
If anything I'd see this as a low scoring game with a lot of running from TCU to start with Texas loading the box. Darius Anderson/Sewo Olonilua will give them fits though if they don't. I'd also imagine that Texas will also force Shawn Robinson to beat them with his arm.
BJ Foster is out for Texas in the first half. That will hurt the Horns for sure.

I think what is known and has been shown of this Texas team under coach Herman is that they play to there level of competition. When the lights are brightest or they are in the underdog role they shine. This will definitely will be a play for me especially now that i see the line creeping up to +3.5. I Look for Tcu to be flat after there big game and Texas to build upon there USC performance. I like this spot and situation for this Texas team

Herman lost me as well with his Shawn Robinson comparisons to Hill...? What...?
Anyway, it’s easy to say that TCU could be down after the tough loss to Ohio State.....much of the reason for the loss was self-inflicted. Patterson’s program is not about feeling sorry for yourself, it’s new week new chance to prove them wrong.....chip on shoulder or being ticked off.
One bulletin board material angle:
The Longhorns have lost four in a row to TCU for the first time since 1935-38. During the streak, TCU has outscored Texas 153-33. The Horned Frogs have won five of the last six meetings.
One additional angle: weather could be rainy, neutralizer of speed vs game plans....could be interesting chess match.
TCU 26-21

Last year the narrative was about how Tom Herman was like 8-0 ATS as an underdog vs a ranked team. Texas broke that streak last year many times. Versus mediocre teams, I’d take a look at Texas. Hell, I ended up playing UT -4 last week against USC bc I was drunk and at the game and knew USC sucks. But TCU actually has a good and fast up tempo offense and Texas cant score enough points to keep up. Not with Sam. TCU rolls

buy it down to - 2.5 !! game like this when the line is - 3 even .. always buy 1/2 a point .. you get paid a little less , but you will be paid if they kick a last minute FG !!! instead of the push , go for the win !!! lol if TCU come out flat all the way then , kiss the $ good bye and move onto the next game .. but it will be close all the way to the 4th .. that's how i see it
