If you think both can win straight up why are you buying points?
Good Luck!

We will know the outcome in about 4 hours.

I always buy the half point to get certain key numbers. That's what smart investors do.

Thanks for the response, I will be watching to see if changing +5.5 to +6 in both cases here will make a difference in the end?

@surinta1
My pick is +6 [-20]
@thehuntman
I don't expect the [-20] to come into play for either pick because I expect them to win straight up, however, [-20] has won me more than lost, even turned potential pushes into wins.

Hate to burst your bubble, but buying points long term is not a good investment. Why do you think books let you buy points? If you need to buy a 1/2 point because your afraid the play could lose, then you really shouldnt be making that bet on the team. Tough to overcome just the regular vig, paying extra vig makes it even harder

@cd329
It's a horrible proposition for 98% of bettors because they lose a lot but for the 2% who win consistently, it's a great investment because it saves them more than not. And hate to burst your bubble but I'm the 2% and my pick threads have more than proven that it's only added to my bankroll.

@smellybunty
Buying a half point is irrelevant if you win more than you lose. Why is this such a difficult concept for most to grasp? Oh wait, it's because most lose more than they win, that's why. And most of my picks involve certain key numbers and this is why buying the hook is common.

My whole point is, if you are picking a team to win and you think that the 1/2 point is gonna come into play, then honestly you should pass on that game. Theres an old saying in the gambling world "Its better to pass on a winner then bet a loser" Theres actually been research on this very subject. Either way good luck with the plays
