    why do bama fans insist that they completely outplayed LSU the first time. You guys lost at home, and you only outgained them by 50yds. I would not call that domination

    Nobody said that we dominated them... If you watched the game you would understand this. LSU was one dimensional with the run game, while we had balance throughout the game, and had consistent, better drives than LSU. We left 13+ points on the field, and if a few calls go the other way, we win the game.

    Really? Atlanta Braves winning the division and losing in PLAYOFFS is not analogous with LSU having to play same team twice to win NC.  It is not fair to have to play a division rival when they already played and beat Bama.  It obviously not fair because if Bama wins they will be 12-1 and LSU 13-1, yet Bama would be NC because they won a game on a neutral field against a team that already beat them on the road.

    If a playoff system was in place and LSU was 13-0 and lost to a 1 loss Boise or 2 loss Wisconsin than that is more like your analogy with the Braves.

    Whether this game is "fair"  is not debatable because it is not.  It is what it is

    @Tappy

    I agree with you that LSu offense was not producing much and Bama at least moved the ball better and put their team in better field position all game.  I think Les was being ultra conservative with the O on the road and knowing it was going to be so tight he did not want to pull out the "Madhatter".  I hope that LSU at least opens up the O in the NC game and try to either throw down field or attempts on of Les' fake FGs or punts or something.  I enjoy D battles but the game is more fun to watch when the Tigers try crazy shit

    It is absolutely fair because that's the system that LSU and all the other member schools agreed to - that is that the best two teams in the country play in a winner take all national championship game.  But now you and several Covers posters think that that we should change the rules at the 11th hour and forego playing a national championship game this season.  Rather you think that we should make a special exception for LSU this season and crown them national champions after they beat Georgia in the SEC championship game.

    Moreover, if Oklahoma State beat LSU in the national championship game, the Cowboys would be 12 & 1 and LSU would be 13 &1.  Those records, of course, would have absolutely nothing to do with detrmining who the national champion is.

    The real reason that little box-ass bitches like you get on message boards and whine like little girls is that you know that Alabama is better team, and when the final seconds tick off the 4th quarter Superdome clock, Alabama will leave absolutely no doubt about it this time.

    Suck it up and take the ass-whopping you have coming like a man, and stop embarrassing yourself and others LSU fans with your ridiculous "it's just not fair *** sniff, sniff *** argument.  You look absolutely pathetic.

    Well, at that time their only legit deep threat was Lee, and we simply shut him down. I can't see JJ being a deep threat, or even much of a passing threat in this game.

    If this game is anything like last time, and we have issued on the edges with the running game, I will be able to go out there and throw the ball to some open receivers. However, I think this month or so to prepare is going to make the difference, and I think we will have an answer for him. We shal see...

    @Jimmydafreak

    You are taking what I stated way overboard. I am from New York and recently moved to Louisiana for work, so I am not an LSU homer. The BCS system is not set up correctly. Explain how Bama beating LSU and being - and LSU being 13-1 with each team beating each other makes any one of them NC? It does not make any sense. I do think LSU is a better overall team than BAMA, but that is just my opinion. I am not whining or crying, just stating facts that the current BCS system is not set up right.

    If OSU beat LSU then they would be NC, even though both teams had one loss because the one loss was not to LSU. If you really believe that the best way to crown a champion is to let 2 teams that already played each other play again? So if then each team can be 1-1 v each other? How does that make any sense?

    I really think its funny how offended Bama backers and fans get when anyone brings this up. calling me a "box ass bitch" because I questioned the "fairness" of the current BCS system that has Bama and LSU palying each other? Really Jimmy? That is the first place you go? Not really necessary. But I did get a nice laugh.
    Your argument that it is fair because they were the rules when the season started is a valid one.  I am not calling for special treatment for LSU this season.  I would like to see a playoff system put in place to determine the NC.  That is the only "fair" way to determine a Champ.  I think its is fair when #1 seed Kansas is knocked out of the NCAA tourney in the first round  based off of the principle that that is the way the tourney is set up.  But the BCS is computers and coaches voting in what 2 teams will be Champions.  If LSU and Bama won their way to a re-match then my argument is moot because both teams earned their way into NC game.

    Well, I apologize . . . sort of.

    I just just hate whining-ass MFers.  If I put someone on my softball team and they start being a whining panzy-ass MFer, I don't want 'em.  I like to give whiny asses something to whine about by whipping their ass on the field.  If I have someone on my team whiny about the other team having an illegal player, or the umpire did this or that, they're off my team.  My team is going to play whatever 10 the other teams puts on the field, and with whatever umpire is out there.  If we win great!!!  If we lose, we'll lose like grown men (and women) and congratulate the other team on a game well-played.

    The few whiny-asses that post about poor LSU having to win a national championship game to be crowned the national champions (what a novel concept) makes all the good LSU fans look bad.  And of all fan bases in the SEC, LSU fans are pretty much my favorite.

    My God if the LSU football team took on the personna of some of these panzy-ass Covers posters with the a contagious case of the poor-me's, they'll get killed on January 9th.  So instead of whining and complaining about having to play Alabama again, get behind your team.  If they win then no one can argue with their incredible accomplishments this season.  They will be the undisputed national champions and no one can argue with that.

    But please!!!  Just stop with all the whining-ass BS!!!

    fellas fellas, why all the animosity?  both teams are very good and can play ball.  I don't doubt the they're the #1 and #2 teams in the country.  my point starting this thread was really to pump up the louisiana life article about my cousin...  i thought it was really cool to learn that my ancestor came up with the school colors... anyway, also thought that LSU fans and players can be very proud of the best season in school history.  that's all, i wasn't downing bama really.  i have a lot of respect for that program.  just curious why all these bama fans on here are so mouthy after losing at home.  chalk it up to being self-conscious about losing at home, not winning their division or conference and still getting invited to the big game.  i say bring on bama, can't wait!

    My bad Jimmy, calling Alabama the better team even though they lost I thought was saying that they were superior to LSU. I guess I was wrong, sorry bro at least we understand now you were saying that Alabama was the inferior team because of the scoreboard. Or do I need a lesson in reading comprehension?

    Tacerotacobell-

    Jimmy is cool man- he is a die hard Bama fan but he is also on who tends to be more objective than most regarding his team. Seems to also know his football(not just Bama)-  Tappy is a good guy too, he just gets carried away sometimes- Bottom line is i am going to disagree with those guys, and they will disagree with me, and we can do it with respect.

    fj702- you pretty much nailed it. Should be another good, hard fought football game. Those who aren't interested in the rematch and thought the first game sucked must be out of thier minds. That was a damn good football game to watch. I expect more scoring this time and as i said before- LSU 23- Bama 17. However is wouldn't "surprise me" if the score was reversed. Regardless, i will admit that whoever wins will be the undisputed national champions. Timing is everything and if you lose the last game of the season then you can't be national champs. I didn't hear florida st whining when Florida beat them in the national championship after they had one the regular season matchup.

    The only reason Bama fans talk so much right now is because everyone knows that Bama out played LSU in that game. Sure LSU ran the ball better, and they had better special teams, and made some better coaching decisions. But if you really watch that game Bama had better balance with their drives, they never got one dimensional, and they left about 13 points on the field, that LSU didn't. LSU is the better team right now, no doubt about it, but they weren't the better team that night, and a lot of people capping that game are looking at that so that they can make a determination on who to bet.

    Sorry bro your kicker sucked when last check he is part of the team and game and LSU made great plays when they need to and WON , stop denying what happen Bama got beat, the score tells you who won and made more plays or in this case who didnt make enough plays to win which would be Bama!

    But Lets all agree If LSU wins again Bama fans will still think they are #1 ... and you know it

I am just saying that we played better in the game than they did, because of all the balanced drives we had, and all the points we left on the field.

    It depends on how the game goes... If LSU wins the game, and beats us by two TDs', and just dominates the game like they have to every other team they have played all season, I will fully admit that they are the better team, and will ridicule any Bama fan who is dumb enough to think different. But if the game goes the same way as the last one, where we play a better game, I will certainly say once again that the better team lost.

    I have seen it in several games this season, not just the Bama game.
