Maybe you're right, but dont overlook that the NFL is the ultimate goal and shouldnt be frowned upon when someone puts that first. I would have done the same thing IF told there was risk at long term damage.

I am with puck...I had texas and I think he did the right thing by not playing if he is hurt like he says he is...I mean c'mon, you dont get to be the all time winningest qb ever at texas, with many, many 4th quarter comebacks (a couple against my boys) without heart.  He couldn't play and that was it unfortunately

Funny how guys worried about their $100 bets think this kid should risk millions to cover a spread.

I would say son the x-rays are negative, go back on the sideline, throw a few balls and see how it feels. If you can't go then you can't go.

And if you can't go don't look like a bigger box and attempt a lame fake cry on national tv.

People that think like that and worry about what COULD happen don't succeed in life. His arm will be fine by April.

He has an insurance policy that would pay him $1 million dollars for an injury that harms his NFL career.

Even without that he could use his degree and be offered a very lucrative job by a Texas booster. Happens all the time.

The treatment, or lack of, after he was ruled out was nonexistent. He never once attempted any type of effort to check the motion of his arm. If doctors didn't want him to try they would have put him in a sling. He admitted no pain and tried to cry on national tv.

He got a stinger like many other football players and didn't show much heart in returning in the National Championship game.

Oh wait. There are real tears on that emoticon.

Oh wait. There are real tears on that emoticon.

bunch of ignorant f*cks on this site apparently.  if he could have come back he would have.  the hit he took would have laid every one of these arm chair qb's in the hospital for a week.  he has proven his toughness over the past 4 years.  i say this as someone who lives in dallas...who is not a UT fan.

tough loss...would have been a different game if he hadnt gotten hurt...

but dont try to make yourselves feel better about losing a bet by piling on mccoy.   shit happens....move on...

    unreal....

He will be lucky to crack the 1st round. Bradford had a chance to be the #1 OVERALL pick and came back to play when his team was already out of contention. THIS WAS THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME AND YOU'RE A SENIOIR!!!

giants50: You are right we don't know all the facts and my post might be completely wrong in the next couple days.

I doubt it though. A separation or tear and he would have pain and would be in a sling for sure. He said he had zero pain just numbness in his arm. A stinger. Fear of any major nerve damage and the doctors would have had him to the hospital for immediate tests.

Like my original post, in my opinion he didn't show much heart or desire to return and that is all based on his NFL future not his college teammates. I'd be pretty disappointed and I am interested to see if anyone says anything in the next couple days.

I heard Mel Kiper last night and he said with a good game in would be late 1st mid 2nd. With a bad game 3rd or possibly 4th round.

Not sure what you classify tonight but don't think he helped himself. If I'm a GM and his skills are borderline I look back at his actions after the fact and downgrade him a little more.

Favre and Manning take a lot of games off...of wait...they play through insane injuries.

Colt is a box...he got popped and now we'll see if surgery follows or he just took a hard hit and dad decided to shut it down.  Meet the next Joey Harrington.

    Surgery??

For what? A stinger?? A common injury in football.

All he had to do was attempt to show any type of desire to return. Move his arm. Attempt to pick up a football and see if he can. If he couldn't then all you can say is well he tried and couldn't go. But he didn't do that then attempted to cry without success.

    Pretty weak.
