I would think SMU covers.........BECAUSE
*Tulane has an aggressive / physical defensive front....that is capable of shutting down methodical / move the chains O's like Army.....UConn.....or even Navy.......
Here is Navy's rushing per carry average TY.....care to guess which game is Tulane?.....ND > 6.49.....SMU 6.2

BUT....Ponies ain't NAVY.....and should be able to stretch the field here....and simply outscore Tulane.....who has one of the nation's worst O's.....and maybe worst OL (#128 FEI efficiency)
*SMU D is not THAT much worse than Tulane....while O is MUCH better....ST are really bad for both....Tulane's slightly worse
*NOTE: Tulane does have the #1 rush D in AAC....3.3/rush...138/g....and #1 in TFL as well......so should cause SMU OL some problems....> UNDER a consideration........
Most importantly.....SMU needs this one MUCH more...
*their LAST home game......with a terribly disinterested fan base.....even weaker recruiting base....Jones decided to NOT recruit DFW area wtf..........no way they can afford to lose this one
*Tulane at 3-7 with a home game vs Tulsa next....SMU at Memphis......should be colder here (for us) ....low 40's maybe....slight to zero crowd edge for SMU
REASON to not get too excited?
*Ponies the last 5 games a TURNOVER machine....losing the ball 13X / forcing 2 .....24 fumbles rank #124
*Wave playing with some (false maybe) confidence.....covering their last 4....Ponies covered 1/7 games...........
Gotta love posters like this who chime in and don't read (or understand) the finer points of the thread.
Then when SMU hits, they disappear like a moose fart in the wind.
I ALREADY addressed the the Navy game that so many found so impressive (isn't it amazing how a 31-17 Tulane loss can be praised like this???).
Tulane was one of the only teams in the nation to play not one, not two, but THREE triple option teams this year, each one setting the blueprint for the next on film and on the field. And we already know Tulane has a DL that is decent (their one and ONLY postive).
So what happened in their first triple option game? They were obliterated by Georgia Tech 65-10 (some DL huh?).
Then they lose 31-17 then get by army at the gun as army fumbles 5 times, completely botches a punt and allows an INt for points.
You are overvaluing the Navy game and performance instead of taking it in the grander context of how Tulane has performed all year which is abominable! That is why this line is 3 folks, mock wise guys like this who think they have the inside track on the numbers.
But listen guys, the ponies ain't navy! What a revelation!
