I liked Jimmy the Greek.  He told nothing but the truth but it was not politically correct.  It wasn't rude or racial, either.  He just told the truth.  This CANNOT BE ALLOWED if there is a modicum of a chance that it might offend someone.  White males and white rednecks excluded, they are fair game, no one will mind, even those abused.  Why not, it does no good to protest so laugh and enjoy it?

Yeah I used to hang out with the Greek At Hollywood park.. Man I've been in the Big house and was just released a few days back, Man its good to be back. I'm posted up in the NFL with some hot picks.

Charles Barkley has said things similiar or worse and he was sober.  He hasn't lost his job.

Very interesting show ! In fact all those 30/30 shows have been good ! I am impressed with ESPN, so much better then those stupid game shows they tried a while back. Give me interesting pieces on the history of sports anytime !

The Greek was a legend before his time. He was completely railroaded out of town and what a shame that was.  I saw the ESPN special last night but it left me shaking my head, either the entire story was not told to us or all those people that spoke so highly of him in that program last night are two faced. Where were all these people when he was getting railroaded out of town, and then to complete the entire thing they dont show up for his funeral??? Nobody is perfect and we all say things that arent always right but to think the Greek was a racists might be the craziest, dumbest thing I have ever heard.

I agree that Charles says what he feels and I enjoy listening to him.  But if a white person said the same type things that Barkley has said, he would be in big trouble in my opinion. 

I remember one time during the NBA draft,there was a long discussion about which of 2 players (I can't remember the 2 player's names) that should be drafted next in the first round.  When it got to Charles turn to speak, he said his pick and got quiet.  The other guys looked at him a second and then asked why is this guy your pick.  He said something like this.  The other guy is white and we all know that blacks are better at basketball.  Of course, the other guys laughed and I did too.  I thought it was funny and had no problem with it.  But could a white person say something similiar in jest on TV or in public and get away with it. 

I just wish this race thing would go away, but the black leaders will pounce on anything out there that they think can stir up people.  And, by the way, some of my black friends can't stand Rev. Jackson.  They think he worships money, not God.

no he said draft the white guy because you need at least one white
guy on your squad to keep putting people in the stands
his statement spoke to the economics of the game the owners and how player selection talent and race are all intertwined

as long as there are people of different color the race thing will always be with us--trying to understand how race is played and not playing into it ourselves is all we can do

If the Greek were around today, he would say "I told you so" when discussing the racial make up of todays football, both college and pro, and the ever increasing porblems facing both sports.  He was way ahead of his time, and told it like it was.  I think that there is a huge difference between being a racist and not buying into all of this "political correctness" crap that has flooded the nation.
