Starting to like the Texas/ULL under.....Texas defense will be a bit better....offense will be fine....ULL has the most overall production back in the nation I believe. Should be a decent game.

The line on North Carolina has gone down to -4.5 as of today...Of all my picks, this is the one that I am most concerned about...Sure Howell is a beast, and NC is well coached, but they have not performed well on the road at night. This is a night game at Blacksburg, which does not have the effect that it once did, but Fuente is desperate for a big win...I think this line could get down to NC -3 by game time. I think this game could go either way...The fact that it has stayed at -5.5 for forever until today, and not gone up, with the perception that the public is backing Howell and NC, says a lot. I don't want to speculate but this move toward VT may be a sharp buy on VT...I have made the pick here on covers, so I will stick with it, and hope for the best. I am just talking out loud...What are your thoughts?

another perspective on the Texas pick from LHH...
I am also on Texas. I am a homer and a Texas alum (BBA 1992). The Napier is a great coach who has a P5 future. However, the talent delta is huge. I just don't think Louisiana is the 2nd coming of the Boise Teams. From a technical perspective, the drop from 9.5 to 8, in public money on a visiting dog. If you throw in Herman's debacles to start the 2017 and 2018 season against marginal Maryland teams, and Texas announcement that it will join the SEC in 2025 or earlier, there is added pressure to not only win, but win big, to avoid the embarrassment of not. Texas is loaded with talent and 4 star players. Louisiana is primarily 2 star, with a few 3's I suppose. Granted, if this Texas team were not to take Louisiana seriously, these cohesive 2 stars would have a chance at the upset. However, that's not going to be the case. Sure, we have Arkansas on deck, but an upset loss to a average but respectable SEC team at their house, would not be the end of the world. A loss at home against even a ranked Louisiana team would be a huge embarrassment and subject Texas to a lot of ridicule. Also, here is something else as you cap. That surprise upset of Iowa State was 1) game 1, in front of no fans, at Iowa State, 3) and Iowa State was leading 14 to 10 at the half. Louisiana score in the last two minutes of the 3rd quarter on a 82 1 play TD bomb, and then 2 minutes later on a punt return. Finally, they scored their last TD with 10 seconds left in the game. Granted, they earned the win and it was glorious for you Louisiana alumni. But, the fact that they did this to a respectable Big 12 program, almost assures that Texas won't take them lightly, and thus, a solid Texas win. My prediction, Texas 35 Louisiana 17. GL on your cap...I try not to bet for or against my Longhorns since I am a homer and not objective. They have burned me in the past. But, I feel good about this game. As I hope for the best...

It will be interesting to see what Tulane does this week about their practices with a hurricane coming into New Orleans. They are expecting up to 20 inches of rain. I'm keeping a close eye on it, but if Tulane is unable to practice it wouldn't surprise me if they postponed or cancelled the game. I'm also leaning Texas and the under. But I haven't decided on anything yet. I think the 3 most improved teams in the Big 12 will be Texas, TCU and Texas Tech. I'm looking to play on those teams quite a bit this season. BOL this week!

I think I read that UNC lost their top 4 pass catchers from last season?
I don't know this game just feels weird to me, im concerned with UNC pulling what they did at FSU last year.

Texas Game - Card to start, and Thompson to play..
Normally a QB controversy would not be ideal, but in this case, I think its a good thing. Both will be trying to impress against a respectable Louisiana Lafayette team. I think Texas will win and cover...

Good Luck as always Horn - curious - line on Horns moving up - how high would you bet it for the Horns - believe it is now -11' - should have got it at -9' like you did.
