I’d like to hear your rationale on the Horns this week. I would assume they come out flat after embarrassing the Sooners last week. Iowa St. certainly can’t keep up offensively but they are tough on defense. I see Texas winning 31-17 so I am leaning with the points or possibly Texas tt under. They are at home so maybe they will be up for it this week. GL this week!

Yes, the quintessential homer play...That's is what I have hearing from the Covers community this week...You guys have this matchup twisted...You are capping a traditional Texas Team against last years Iowa State Team, as you anticipated ISU fighting hard, and Texas laying an egg, after their huge dominating win over its arch rival OU. You guys know that The Purdy Bunch of ISU has defeated Texas 3 years in a row...and last year it was 30 - 6...one of the most humiliating losses in Texas football history...Campbell is a good coach, but he does not have the horses this year on offense, and he only had 3 returning starters on D to start the season, and 5 on O...Hall, Kolar, Purdy, et al are gone to the NFL along with many other quality players...You guys gage their #1 in the Big 12 D, with Texas D at #4, as being what is going to get you the cover backing Iowa State and the prima facie insane 16 pt spread...Vegas is floating that out, and you think, based on the performance of past UT teams, that you are getting value on ISU, well you are not...Texas may not be back, but something happened in that West Virginia game that continued to the OU game with this team...Texas has playmakers all over the field that up until now, have either been injured or under performed...Wingback Whittington was a 5 star recruit out of Cuero, Texas. I think he has a possible NFL career, worthy, 3 deep in the RB's and Ewers...I have heard that ISU may be without their top 2 RBs...Their passing game has a lot to be desired. Yes, I know, ISU is going to take what the D gives them, and grind out long drives. Perhaps. But, they will earn every yard...Our secret Weapon is quasi DC Gary Patterson, former HC at TCU (and a legend there) who is a brilliant defensive play caller. If Ewers does not get hurt again, I predict a lot of 3 and outs for ISU...And quick and sustained scoring drives by Texas...All that plus 100K fans in Austin clamoring for blood, and a hoard of 4 and 5 high school recruits who will be visiting on Saturday including Arch Manning...I will be taking Texas and giving the chalk...You do your own research and do you what you want...

1) @Texas -16.5 over Iowa State
Texas 35 Iowa State 10

I will keep it simple...NC has owned Duke, has better players, better coordinators, and a comparable head coach to Duke...Duke is improved, but eventually in the 2nd half the dam will break and NC will cover...NC will play bend but don't break D like they did against Miami...And outlast Duke...I think NC will win and cover.
3) San Jose State -9 over @Fresno State
San Jose State 31 Fresno State 17
This one scares me a bit...Fresno homecoming, an injured Bulldog trying to salvage its season...I think it will be close for a half and then Cordero and company will pull away and cover. SJSU has a good defensive front, and Haener is not yet for Fresno...This is a revenge game for SJSU...I think they will demonstrate some payback against Fresno win and cover.
4) Minnesota -6.5 over @Illinois
Minnesota 24 Illinois 10
Revenge Game for Minn...and payback time...Mo is back and healthy, Minn two weeks to prepare after embarrassing loss to Purdue...Prima Facie it appears that Illinois will be sans Devito who has a high ankle sprain. Illinois will rely on the run and its D, with Sitkowski managing the game. I think the GG's have an advantage at QB with Tanner Morgan, and I think the Minn D can match or exceed their counterparts at Illinois on D. Minn burned me in the Purdue game, because Mo was suppose to play, since he was dressed and had practiced all week. But, I guess with the bye week, Fleck wanted to give him more time to heal...So I am giving Row the Boat one more chance to demonstrate what this Minn can do. I think Minnesota will win and cover.
