Boston College v. Northern Illinois, DeKalb, Illinois
I think this is going to be a tight game, with BC pulling out the win and the cover. I am concerned a bit that Addazio has not named a stater between Wade and Brown. I think this game will come down to motivation. I think BC will be very motivated. Most pundits count no more than 4 to 5 wins on BC's schedule, and this one is circled as a must win. I think BC's 15 returning starters will provide the experience and poise on the road at night to help BC succeed. I think Loeffler's up tempo game with more downfield passing will help open up holes for RB Hilliman. Landry will be a disruptive force on D, which won't give the NI QB much time to find open receivers. NI has a storied history, but they weren't a good team last season, and I don't think this will be one of their better teams this season. I think BC has a fairly significant talent advantage at most positions. I think BC will play solid base D, and open it up in the first half. I think they will get a 2+TD lead halfway through the 3rd quarter, then rely back on their old ways of 3 yards and a cloud of dust to work the clock and preserve the win and hopefully the cover.
