Mega is my favorite capper on the site. He is respectful, creative, comical, and most importantly, a tremendous 'capper. I sincerely hope he returns, so I can enjoy the banter and thorough write-ups. Jeez that sounds like a pole polishing post, but whatever.

not sure on your female shrimp:) Thanks for the explanation on DoubleUp. Did you really ask if I am promoting screen names? I think it was a joke on 3 screen names not exactly promotion.

Another thing that confuses me about cappers that build up a reputation then start their own website. If your such an analytical expert on sports wagering as to build up that sort of following, should you not be making a fortune with your sports wagering? The only reasons to be a tout is that you do not want to live in Las Vegas, and second that you fear the illegality of making your money from offshore sports books. Those are legit reasons to want to sell your picks over actually betting them yourself. Interested in others views on this.

If you have a track record of years (like Mega does), then why not make a little extra money on the side for all the work you put in it? I don't have an issue with it at all and wish him best of luck.

LOL at all the misinfomation swirling in this post.
MEGALOCKS' name, like his write-ups, is all in fun. He never says anything is an actual lock.. how can you have registed in 2013, Jason, and not be familiar with MEGA and his threads?
Secondly, he neither went tout nor started his own website.
He is going to be back at the same time he always is.
Now sit down.

He does have a web-site, and is charging $149 for 9 months. Perhaps do a little research before being an a s s to a complete stranger. Plus it will spare you from looking like a complete f o o l.

Incog, I was talking in the theoretical about people who have used this site to launch websites. I have been on this site for about 10 years, changed to VegasJason few years ago when I lost a previous login. I am familiar with the various well known posters on this site. I use the season mainly during college football season. I also use it some for college basketball.

Wrong. Like I said, he has his own website now. And it is much deserved. The guy has provided winners for years! He isn't looking to get rich by any means. He is just creating a site free of fuss and drama for the cost of a good dinner and movie.

If he's one of the 3-4% of handicappers that make money, he should be worth money to those 96% that don't.
Going into business as an expert with something of value is paid for in every other aspect of our lives....you wouldn't be angry about a guy who can fix your car or your toilet when you couldn't....why should there be an issue for paying for expertise that benefits you?

I am, for one, grateful that he created a website to consolidate all of his analysis. Anyone that followed him over the years (last season especially) knows that the constant digging through 10+ pages to find his actual posts became a bit laborsome. I will gladly pay a little coin to read his previews of all FBS teams and have game by game analysis week in and week out. Not to mention the fact that he made me more money last year on his 72% season than any other capper here.

There's a difference between IMO between being a tout and selling your picks/analysis. A tout is by definition shady. He uses high pressure sales tactics, lies about his ATS record, gives out both sides of the same game to ensure half his clients win, etc.
If you just sell your picks, without doing any of the above, I have no problem with it. Your argument that they can make money betting their picks may be true, but they can make more money with a lot less risk selling the picks. If they are really legit, Vegas may have cut them off or reduced their betting limits.
Also, you could say the same thing about people that manage stock funds. They could "make a fortune" investing their own money, but they make a h-ll of a lot more investing other people's money and taking their cut, with no risk.
