I follow Mississippi State in every sport as close as you
could follow any school. With that said I’m very realistic when it comes to
expectations and when to bet for or against the Bulldogs. I have to say, I’m
very confident with this bet and its’ the only Regular Season Over/Under that I’m
betting on. I’m taking Mississippi State Over 5.5 wins and it’s a 5 Star bet
for me. Last season was a rebuilding year after Dak Prescott and MSU went 6-7 including
a bow game. Out of the 7 games they lost, 4 of them where on the last play of
the game. South Alabama, LSU, BYU and Kentucky. If the ball bounced the right way
for the Bulldogs they could have gone 8-4 or 9-3. In November of last season,
MSU started to really click on offense, the reason why Quarterback Nick
Fitzgerald improved on his decision making and Aeries Williams, the RB, really
started to come on. Both are back entering their Junior year.
This season, I think Mississippi State will win at least 6
games, this team will be much better than last year. Offense they will be fine,
they lose some starters from the offensive line and a big-time receiver Fred
Ross but I feel like they have the talent to fill the void. Last year’s defense
wasn’t good, ranked 110th in total defense. Some of that had to do
with lack of experience and the other part they were poorly coached. This
season MSU has a new DC, Todd Grantham, which was the former DC at Georgia and Louisville.
He’s the reason why I am excited about this season and what State could maybe
do. There are two games that I’m concerned about that might keep MSU from
winning 6 games. At Louisiana Tech and Kentucky, at home. Tech is an explosive offense
and I’m not sure MSU’s defense will be ready yet. Probably would take Tech plus
the points and the over, I still think MSU will win but it might be close. I
think Kentucky will be better than what most people think. I do have MSU
beating LSU at home this year, whether they lose to Tech, the week before, or
not. I just can’t see MSU winning less than 6 games this year. Last year they
were unlucky and still won 5 games, so a better team the next season will do
the same? I just don’t see it. It might come down to the Egg Bowl for the 6th
win but I think they’ll get there. Worst case scenario 6 wins, best case 9
wins.

LA Tech and Kentucky are my only concerns, nothing is a lock, no matter how good you think the bet is. I'm realistic. Don't like the juice either but that's the way it is. I do like MSU to beat LSU at home. I think they match up well with them. I do think Fitzgerald takes a big step this season and I think the defense will too.
GL to you
