POOL and the rest of my fellow dream team, I am going to write what i have currently now as I have to head back to the casino for the start of the game.
First of all, I'm sorry POOL i could not comment on the Skins game yesterday but I was not only not around, but there was nothing to really say on it. I promised you all from the beginning that I would give information but only when there is something to be said. For that game, you were on the correct side but RG3 got hurt and that completely changed the game. As it was, the two teams were even so taking away a top run threat for Washington was their undoing. It's like that one Phoenix/NYK OVER that was a sure top play and then Dragic goes out as well as Anthony and Felton before an acrobatic shot by J.R. Smith. That's betting and the risk we all run if we wager on games.
Having said that....on to tonight. This is a game which is being equally wagered on and one that has quite a few people on the UNDER. I understand great defenses and nerves and so forth and so on but the 40 1/2 point O/U is really deceptive. All it will take is one of these defenses going for a TD and that would give a HUGE advantage to the backers on the OVER.
My biggest angle is this: do NOT tease this game. It will just not win that much i can guarantee. Sure if you take the winning side with an NBA game then yeah, different story. But both the O/U and point spread will not fall into the 6 point cushion for all teasers to come out winners. Which means, either ND can win outright or they will get crushed. Personally speaking, I think ND gets crushed.
The main thing that Notre Dame has for themselves is a quarterback who can get out of the pocket. But, unlike the Heisman Trophy winner whom they lost to, he is more of a runner to create a throwing lane than one who will gallop for 40 yards. Moreover, the Alabama defense is really, really fast and I'm not sure Notre Dame has seen this type of speed all year.
If you look at who Notre Dame beat that was a high profile program, you will see the likes of Oklahoma, USC, and Stanford. Two of those three lost pretty big in their bowl games and had underperforming seasons. I'm sure you can make an argument against me but that is a factual statement. Additionally, Notre Dame hasn't played in over a month and I think this will have them coming out sluggish. IF they get behind they are NOT very good at coming back and the athletic secondary of Alabama will blanket their receivers forcing them to have a running attack to get anything going.
As for Alabama, I'm sold on the fact they have not ONE, but TWO running backs that could play in the NFL right now. I think that the Notre Dame defense is GREAT, but I think that the Alabama weapons are better. Where the game will be won is in the trenches and Alabama has an insane offensive line that i think will create holes.
I in NO WAY think this will be an up and down game. Again, this is what I think not what the spreads are telling me. I do think that Alabama will win by more than 10 points and i can tell you from the money coming in on Notre Dame, this line should have already moved. Take the REAL #1 team in many peoples opinions and the team with experience. Alabama 24-10.
Good luck guys, already have a HUGE angle on the NFL games for this weekend. Oh, and NBA has a gem as well.
