MSU coming in off of two huge emotional home wins over Michigan and Wisky.
This is just plain and simple a horrible spot for them... road game against a quality opponent off of emotional wins.
In the game versus Wisky ... MSU showed grit and discipline... zero penalties for them happens every 100 years. But the lack of running game hurts them and facing an option style attack can give a defense fits if they are not emotionally prepared.
Is alot at stake in this game... MSU with a win would have a 2 game advantage on Nebraska and would own the tiebreaker... if MSU loses they are tied in the standings but Nebraska would control its own fate.
Nebraska knows how important this game is and will be prepared... they know with a win that they would have inside track to the conference championship game and a chance at the league title and Rose Bowl.
Nebraska -4.5 for me

I see Michigan State dominating the line of scrimmage and gnashing Neb's defense with their aerial game. You can count of Martinez to turn the ball over at least twice. I understand this is a letdown for Michigan State, but the spartans are just better than Neb and matchup well. If I can get a TD by gametime I'll be all over the spartans.

v. Wisconsin? Yea, covers was all over Vadgers -7.
v. Nebraska? Covers is all over huskers -4.
Sparty on. Gotta love Gholston coming back. Martinez is Wilson without an arm... a slightly slower Denard. Sparty takes a lead and struggles to hold on, but finishes MSU 24 HUSKERS 21.

I just think MSU's D is going to hold Neb to very few scores. Martinez isn't good especially under pressure and our defense will get beat with the intermediate passing game. Nebraska is overrated period, they will lose by 10+. I am a huge husker fan, I just don't see us winning this football game. Good luck either way, just my two cents.

Situations are huge... MSU was in a bad spot going to South Bend... and now they are here. Am not saying MSU can't win this... but in the past the Spartans have not had success in these spots. I would love to see MSU win... but sure as hell cannot back them.

Going to Lincoln is never going to be a "good spot". Sparty444- you must at least love the matchup. Defensively MSU has a clear advantage. Sparty has proven its ability to slow down mobile quarterbacks. On offense, Kirk does what he must. I really think MSU is the play. The let-down was supposed to happen yesterday. Those kids are having fun and playing football- no such thing as a let-down from Dantonio's camp. MSU ML or +4.

MSU did a good job versus Robinson ... but lets face it... that game was tighter than the score showed. Also cannot forget the super windy conditions of the game.
MSU hasn't played in Lincoln since the 90's...Huskers were a different program then. Nebraska will be ready... they had a cakewalk game this past weekend allowing coaches to prepare for the MSU game. Huskers and their fans know the division title is at stake... I think at home Nebraska has the huge edge.

well first of all i couldnt care less if MSU hasnt visit Lincoln since 1800--as for me stats of years past are useless and mean shiet--tht also applies if MSU hasnt won a show case in the past years,--now--- for MSU the title race is also at stake,i dont think MSU will have a hang over after defeating Wisky, actually i beleive they will be more confident and ready, then they can relax a bit when they play lowly minny, i wonder with what will nebraska will make MSU crumble into pieces---just tell me one thing that Nebraska has over MIcH and Wisky that can make them overcome MSU

You beat me to starting this thread. Good write up again Sparty. I think the fact that Martinez is not much of a passer that MSU will do the exact same thing they did to Spetember Heisman (DR). That defense proved to me it belongs in the top 5 in the country and they are str8 up nasty and have and identity as such. . Even tho MSU is going to be a public favorite i thinnk they win this game on the up. This is a typical let down game for MSU but Dantonio will have this team ready to play. The good news is that we wont face a better running team then UW. Ball is a sickman.
Leveon Bell needs to be the starting TB. While i love Baker, there is something wrong with him. He is hitting the holes to quick and not letting the play develop, whereas Bell is more patient and smooth at making people miss. The offensive line is also starting to develop from all of the early season injuries. The offense may not be great but they are good enough to get it done. Cousins had a good performance but had a couple passes that should have been intercepted. Dan Roushar did a great job with the play calling and is really starting to get the hang of it after the first 4 games of learning on the job.
Ive been watching MSU for a long time and that was by far the greatest game ive ever seen. Whats scarier is how young and deep the players are on defense. This team is not an LSU, or Alabama but they are for real and I believe, and they proved, they can play with anyone in the country. Anyway, Go GREEN
MSU +4.5 and UNDER

Name me a showcase road game MSU has won in years?
Ohio State (this year) and Michigan last year. Say what you will about how avg they both are but Michigan was undefeated coming into that game. OSu at the shoe is NEVER easy. Regardless of how avg you think the b10 is, and i agree, but you can only play the games on your schedule. Old MSU would have lost 3 out of 4 of these games. They are simply playing with too much confidence to get shredded. Look for taht defense to rattle Martinez hardcore early and get at least 2 turnovers.

I wasn't that impressed with the defensive play.... the special teams units were brilliant... but the defense didn't really stop Wisconsin that often.
I think many are overvaluing the win over Wisky... just like many did the Wisky win over Nebraska. MSU is a solid team... just not sure they have showed they can win the big road games. The Notre Dame was a tough spot from them and what happened?
MSU can win this game... but they will need 100% focus and will need to play with the discipline they showed versus Wisky ... not Michigan
