MSU vs. Nebraska

IMO, this is a pure situational play. The pointspread is already implying that Sparty will lay an egg @ Lincoln.  If people think MSU can overcome the emotional drain of the last 2 weeks, then MSU is getting a gift.

On a neutral field, MSU is probably 3-4 pts better than Nebraska. Better D, better QB, etc.  So, factor the general rule that the home team gets 3 pts, this game should be a pick, at worst. Maybe NU by 1.

The fact that NU is a 4 or 4.5 pt favorite (ML -190 or so) means that Vegas is assuming that MSU will play flat.  So flat, that NU should easily dispose of MSU.

Have you seen OSU's offense play?  They are awful, yet seemed to do just fine on the road at Nebraska.  Personally, I don't look at home or away all that much.  The only time I take that into account is if a team is very young, especially at the QB position.  Conversly, if a team on the road has an experienced QB and upperclassman, I don't think the road matters (Just ask USC playing ND last week).

That is just me and how I bet.  I tend to look at the teams on the field (no matter where the game is) and what my eyes tell me.  My eyes tell me that MSU is better.  And "Composite" is right.  The line reflects a let down spot for MSU, not b/c they are a lesser team.   

I'm not betting this game.  Just to dangerous for me.  With that said, MSU is the all around better team (imo) and they are getting points.  Betting Nebraska is a risky imo because you are betting that MSU comes out flat. 

I agree Sparty, I think this is a bad spot for Sparty. I am a big Huskers fan and have won a bit of cash betting against them this year. Fact is Nebraska is not that good of a team at all, This is not the vaunted Blackshirt Defense anymore, Martinez is hot or cold, I do think coming off 3 emotionial wins vs Ohio St,Mich, and Wisky is not good.

The point spread makes me think Nebraska wins by 10. Still capping this one..

Too many penalties, the O line was dominated, Cousins continues to regress, but the biggest diff in this one was ROUSHAR and his play calling. Even martin said after the game they ran cover 2 the whole time and they continued to run plays that fit that defense. Hats off to nebraska they dominated our O line. To me i dont think it was as bad of a spot as much as they stink on the road but you were correct. I did not bet this game and thank god, or it would ahve made it worse. They will be fine down the stretch, have the easiest schedule and Michigan will lose at Iowa this weekend after thier complete MELTDOWN against Minny, and Nebraska will lose another game down the stretch to NW,MIchigan, Iowa and i cant remember the 4th. They are still in the hunt just cant have a letdown against the last 4 and have to win a road game at Iowa to go tot the title game. Good Call sparty

 And neither are you if not for the miracle comback against OSU. Nebraska will not go to Championship game. BOOK IT.
