!!!!My final post of the season!!!!

Went 21 and 16 this season…  I had a HORRIBLE early season, but came out strong at the end… All my bets I lost though were decided in the 4th quarter.  I went 9 and 2 in the bowl season, and won my Heisman bet at +800 and National Championship bets at +1200 and my Teaser at Bama -2 and Over 44. 

Perception vs reality… 

Everyone thought that because the SEC struggled for one season, they were down and gone…

Everyone thought that the SEC was overrated…

Everyone thought the SEC had no offenses…

Everyone thought the SEC QB’s sucked…

Everyone thought that the SEC had no defenses…

 

Well, the SEC went 9 and 2 in their bowls, covering the spread and dominating… Each team played the equivalent of the team in the other conference, for example, Alabama the Champion of the SEC played the Champion of the Big Ten. 

The SEC offenses and QB’s and defenses humiliated the other conferences, with better performances on both sides of the ball…

Alabama – Alabama will lose 6 players on offense, including Ryan Kelly our center. Replacing him will be difficult, and it will be interesting to see who will step up. Overall, the offense next season will be amazing though. Blake Barnett will go down as one of the greats, he is a dual threat and the things I saw him do in high school were unbelievable, and Bo Scarborough is the next Trent Richardson, but I think we will go to spread offense next season. We will have Ridley and Stewart back and possibly Howard if he stays his senior year. 

I say spread because we are going to need to put points up because we lose so much on defense. We are losing 10 players, yes 10… The good news is, they are all getting replaced by 5 and 4 stars coached by Jeremy Pruitt… So, I am anxious to see how we are going to do against the SEC RB’s next season.

I will give my analysis of each team next season when recruiting is over with, but the SEC is going to be STACKED… Tennessee scares me, and I am not predicting a title from Bama, but I am predicting that The SEC will send another team to the playoffs and that team will win, although Clemson could be  a threat again with Watson, it just depends on how much they lose to the draft on defense.

I want to thank everyone for their support, it was a pleasure working with you all this season and I am looking forward to next season, I will be back as always. BOL and Roll Tide!

You teased Bama when you went into every thread and predicted 38-10?? 

Said Clemy would be lucky to score 7 - 10 points.  I find your bet hilarious.

85 total points, and a 5 point win.......certainly different from your pre-game predictions and commentary about a team that according to you didn't even deserve to be in Bamas league.

Congrats on the win, but certainly not the kind of bet I would have guessed from a guy who went into every thread that defended Clem, and picked it apart as if they had no chance.

Not a hate post, just really surprised you didn't bet the - 6.5 with such bravado and certainty of a slaughter.

Enjoyed reading all you had to say however as it really stimulated the discussion.

Congrats on the Tide... but your perception of the SEC is overrated. I'll give you the champions since Bama did win it, but Clemson was shoulder to shoulder with them entire game. That's not to say the conference itself was equal. ACC folded like cheap origami paper in the bowl games. Other teams from SEC I will say deserves recognition this year as contenders were OleMiss and Tennessee. Arkansas is up and coming too. It'll be interesting to see where Georgia and LSU starts next year.

Frankly I think conferences in general are pretty well divided in talents now. Three teams probably should have in the playoffs but didn't make it due to one or two unfortunate lost. B10 (Ohio State) and  Pac12 (Stanford) to name 2 off the top of the head would have given Bama a lot of trouble. (Actually I think Bama would've killed Ohio but it would have been a really fun game.)

THE DIFFERENCE IN LAST NIGHT GAME WAS NICK SABIN. HE IS CLEARLY WHY ALABAMA WON LAST NIGHT WITH THE ONSIDE KICK - BIG MOMENTUM CHANGER! TALENT WISE THE ACC, BIG 10, BIG 12 AND PAC 12 IS JUST AS TALENTED BUT THE COACH IS WHY ALABAMA IS SLIGHTLY BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE IMHO

It amazes me how clueless people are of the SEC....especially because a team is competitive in one game, with weeks to prepare.  
 
Just because Clemson played ONE great game against Bama, doesnt mean the SEC isnt that good or Clemson and many other teams could compete in the SEC.  

The SEC rolled through bowls games this year again.

But, bowl games are alot different when you can rest for weeks and prep...as compared to playing LSU one week, then Georgia, then Ole Miss then Vandy, then Bama, then Miss St

Yes, Clemson played with Bama, and maybe others could as well for one game...But to think teams like Clemson, Stanford would compete in the SEC for an entire season is laughable.

Clemson would have 4 losses in the SEC...

My prediction was wrong... Nobody can be right 100% of the time, and I completely admit that I was off on this one. I feel as though my analysis of the teams were on point, but Clemson just simply surprised me. I completely underestimated them, and I was very lucky to cover. Anything can happen in college football. All you have to do is use your best logic and reasoning and make a determination. As you can see from my record, I was above 50% this season, so I was right more often than not. Looking forward to next season.

No, those conferences are not as talented from top to bottom this season and the bowl games proved it...

I gave recognition to the few teams in the SEC that were contenders. While the rest were pretenders. Clemson 4 losses in the SEC? LOL You're kidding right? You might be the clueless one if you truly believe that Clemson would have lost 4x. Name 3 other teams that would have 100% beaten Clemson. Even the champions struggled last night and that's with one of the GOAT coaches in college football.

Why is it that there is rarely ever an undefeated SEC team, but every 1 loss, and maybe 2 loss SEC team will get into the playoffs???

Because people who understand football, understand how hard it is to play an ENTIRE season in the SEC.  ANy team can compete for 1 game, an entire season is a whole new animal.

Heck, Clemson struggled against Notre Dame, FSU all whom get thumped in bowl games.

It is much easier to play a big game against say Notre Dame, then follow it up with garbage like Wake Forest and BC...

Heck, Clemson struggled with a terrible SOuth Carolina team...imagine if they would have had to play LSU, Bama and Ole Miss the following 3 weeks??  They would lose 2 maybe 3 of those games because they wouldnt be able to compete at the SEC level week after week

I am staying silent on this one... I agree with both of you.. The game Clemson took everything Bama had to beat them and Bama was the best team in the SEC and had some hard fought games like that. So I think that it would have gone down to the wire, IF Clemson played like that against them. However, I have to go back to my original prediction of Clemson, they do not have depth on their roster, those star players of theirs just managed to go 4 quarters with us, which was completely and totally shocking to me, when we had A'shawn and Reed on the sidelines gasping for air. 

Now, could Clemson maintain this during an entire season in the SEC, that would be tough to predict because I believe that the reason Bama survived was because of their depth, so like I said, I am remaining silent on a prediction on this...

It's simple, with all the mistakes and gifts handed to Alabama by Clemson, had Clemson played just par in special teams, they win the game.  As good as Alabama is, they were nothing special Monday night.  They showed once again they are no closer to successfully defending a true power spread offense than they have ever been before.  Watson cut them up every way but loose.  

This would be a tough game to swallow for Clemson.  They beat themselves every chance they got.  They were very successful at doing just that.  Result = Alabama Champions

For the most part, I agree, but Bama got the big stops when they really needed to and made the plays they needed to. Clemson is a hell of a team with a great bunch of athletes, but they got out played and out coached when it mattered the most.
