it sucks to be Tennessee right now. He did them wrong.

But as a recruit, you're signing with the university, not the coach. Stuff happens. I bet the kids who enrolled will get a chance to leave due to circumstances. All Tennessee needs to do now is make a bigger splash and sign Gruden to a FAT deal.

 No it doesn't,what sucks is to have a head coach that you don't like or respect,I thought that I'd have to endure at least 3 years of his act.The guy is not a winner plain and simple.

terrible situation but did you ever think that maybe lane kiffin is doing what is best for him.. going to the place he was at for what 6 years?? he must like usc more then tenn, and lets face it he is going to win national championships there.. it would have been a lot harder to win them at tenn. he did what was right for him. thats the business, sure i feel sorry for the kids but lane did what he had to do

i dont know why people think he;s not a winner. Based on what he;s done so far? I admit, he never deserved the Raiders job. That was a head scratcher. They went 4-12, but easily could have been 8-8. They lost a bunch of close games in the early parts of the season.Josh McCown was his main starting QB.

I'm not as excited about the hire of him personally, its more about who he's bringing with him. Ed Orgeron is a beast of a recruiter, his pops can coach d, and now Norm Chow is coming back to run the o.

 OK Trojan,let me just ask you one question.Do you honestly think that Lane Kiffin was at the top of USC's HC wishlist? 

No, but when you're a program like USC, your top 10 list will be marvelous no matter how you look at it. I dont think they thought Kiffin was available. He's a way better hire than their so called #1 choice (Riley). Better fit than Del Rio, based on his familiarity with recruiting.

Dont forget, Pete Carroll was the 6th choice. That turned out ok.

Gotta look at the big picture with this hire. I dont know if you realize what he's bringing, in terms of a coaching staff.

 I do hate to lose Orgeron especially from a recruiting standpoint.But Monte will be 70 years old next month and he really had NO answer for VaTech and Bryan Stinespring isn't exactly known as an offensive wizard.

I'm not that pumped about poppa Kiffin. He is a little too old. But they will have a big replacement when his time is up. As a coach, going to USC to join the all star cast has to be tempting, especially when you can be the d-coordinator.

nobody serious is saying they will win a NC. Not at all. Thats foolish.

but you;re foolish if you think USC played a week ass schedule. Nobody played more quality out of conference opponents than USC. Look it up.

I know you're upset, but stop acting like he's taking a step down. USC has WAY more tradition. 

For the record since the start of the BCS format 12 years ago,USC has 1 NC and Tennessee has 1 NC. The PAC10 has a total of 1 NC,while the SEC has a total of 6 NCs among 4 different teams.In fact the SEC's record in BCS championship games is 6-0.

 So to say that you would have a better chance to win a NC at USC rather than at Tennessee is a bit naive. It would be a good move for someone that wanted a break after realizing that it's just too tough to win in the SEC week after week.

Stop. While you're right they have both won 1 NC in the last 12 years, you cant possible be serious and compare the two on a national level. Dont let the homerism get in the way. His path to the NC is much easier at USC, no if ands or buts. If you cant see that, than there's no arguing with you.

You're being VERY naive comparing the two.

I dont believe so at all.. sure the SEC is a better conference but guess what that means its going to be harder to go undeafted and harder to make it to the NC. I dont know the stat off hand but i would have to imagine that in the past 12 years USC has been in more BCS games and been in the talk for more NC games than Tenn has. He will get more looks at the NC in USC and thats a fact
