thank you all for the kind words. very appreciated.
Like Oregon St as well. Thoughts on the U55? I think both teams will be run heavy and both teams defenses will be solid. Cal hasn't put up more than 24 in the last month, and I expect that will be their max in this game,but I'm projecting 17ish....

@TRAIN69
Yeah I would think so, unless cal finds somethings against OSU defense…which can be scored on. Would think Oregon state wins a close one. 27-24 type.

Initially leaned Rice/NT OVER when I saw the line come out at 55....Intrigued by the under play. Just 2 fairly even squads finally playing a team they can compete with?

@TRAIN69
In three conference games thus far, rice is 17/46 on third down. 46 third downs in 3 games. That tells me they are not moving it very well on 1st and 2nd down, and have to consistently play to convert and stay on the field.
rice is also not a big play offense and they do not play fast, so in a game where each team might have 65 snaps, being in third down consistently will equate to either long time consuming drives, or punts, or both.
I think rice knows they don’t want to get in a scoring match with UNT, and with this game being critically important to both teams, I don’t think we will see the points.
series history is also on our side as the L4 games in the series have seen scores of
2017: 30-14 UNT
2018: 41-17 UNT (stayed under)
2019: 20-14 Rice
2020: 27-17 UNT
rice has dominated the time of possession in the last three games of this series (avg 38 minutes). If they control the TOP and line of scrimmage the UNT offense will be watching long methodical drives from the sideline.
UNT totals are usually in the high 60’s and the one time they played a game where Vegas set the total this low (58) the final was 40-6. I’ll trust they know what they are doing and this will finish under.
also…sounds like tropical storms are brewing in the gulf, maybe some sloppy weather moves in. (Not wishing for disaster by any means just observing the playing conditions and what they may be. )

@Badger66
very kind words my brother. appreciate it tremendously.
I live for saturdays in the fall, my brother. college football has been my passion since I was a young child...i love everything about it.. the pagentry, the bands, the uniforms, conferences, different styles, service acadamies, FCS football, small colleges, spread offense, triple option armed forces football, late game hawaii, 9:30 pm WAC kickofffs with aaron taylor and carter blackburn, tim brando and petros p. on fox sports 1, gameday, which i have attended a few times, tom renaldi, jesse palmer, Western Michigan going into USC as +26 and being in a 28-28 tie in the 4th, gus johnson (ok, i hate gus...but you get it)... this is my #1 hobby and my favorite thing to do, outside of being a father and family man to my wife and 4 children. Betting makes it more fun, and financially rewarding as well.
I tell people this all the time...i ask them
"Hey, what is your favorite thing in life to do, recreationally" "You're favorite hobby". some say riding motorcycle, pickup basketball, building stuff with wood, storage auctions, classic cars, strip clubs, casino games...whatever it might be.
I then tell them this... "Imagine that you could do ___________(insert hobby here)...only 14 days per year...and those days were pre-set and you cannot control when they are, but you do know in advance when they are...what are you going to do on those 14 days?" Everyone looks at me and says... "Year I am going to do (my hobby)..."
and I confirm with them, "yeah, and you are going to reserve your time and not get booked up, for any of those days right?" they always agree...
my point is...cherish it. we are in Week 9, of 14. the season is 63% over, and time is ticking. MACtion starts next week, and we have three weeks of that. only three. soon thanksgiving will be here and the regular season will be over. Cherish this time...

@CarterSECpicks
not too sure...suprising line movement to say the least. LT has played tougher opponents and faired mych better in those games.
