Tonights game:
I love that South Florida is coming on, offensively in their last two games, scoring 31 and 34 points respectively, including their last game where they ran for 421 yards. ECU struggles at times stopping the run, but the pirates should be looking to break out offensively tonight against a lower than average USF defense. I see both teams moving the football, the key for ECU tonight is staying in third and short, as they are woeful on 3rd down this year, but their explosive play potential and timeliness means they should have tons of chunk plays tonight, and i would expect them to be efficient tonight in the redzone when they get down there.
both of these teams should get what they want on offense, each unit should surpase 400 yards, ECU performs very well at home and their games at home typically see ECU in the high 30's/low 40's (52 vs. Tulane...)
i think this is a great opportunity to take an OVER tonight...
Tomorrow:
UNLV...man, what can you say. UNLV just continues to lose games, give games away, not take advantage, flub the ball, whatever idiom you choose to use, they do it...but they are close. and now with nevada suffering a heartbreaking loss, buried down the standings in the MWC west standings...and also the motivation factor, this is a perfect spot to take the rebels in this high intensity rivalry game.
I faded nevada a few weeks ago and cashed when New Mexico State was catching 35, nevada plays down to their level of competition, and I question how much this game really means to them. nevada wants to win, sure, but...are they reeling after a close tough loss vs. a team they are now looking up at in the standings (Fresno)...or, are they peaking ahead to next week vs san jose state (you know they want to beat the spartans badly, after losing LY in the last game of the season where the loss kept nevada from the MWC championship game...
nevada is in a huge conference sandwhich in a game that has to be extremely hard for them to "get up" for, and blow the doors off of UNLV...But the rebs...this game has been circled for them...this is their "big Game". the motivation, desire, etc...will all be with the rebels. does that translate to execution, success, 4th and short conversions...not necessarily. but you have a UNLV team that is really really close...should have beat fresno. should have beat jose, etc. etc. now playing in a huge in state rivalry game against a team that is in a huge sandwhich spot and has a history of playing apathetic football against inferior opponents. yeah, I will take the 21.5 all day long.
