I was on Houston last week. Easy win and cover. They had three things going for them last week.
1. They were extremely hungry to play. After having five games postponed, going through game prep, emotionally preparing only to have games canceled, and just dying to get out on the field and compete, was one of the motivating factors for Houston.
2. You have the ultimate double revenge factor as Houston blew a big lead last year against TULANE ultimately leading in their quarterback deciding to quit. There is no question this game was circled on the calendar for Houston, no matter when it was scheduled to be played. Losing the way they did last year, and having an opportunity to avenge that loss was extremely emotional for Houston.
3. Houston was playing in their first game, and there are varying theories out there, but one could conclude that without having game footage of you playing in an actual game, that is an advantage for you. This is despite the common misconception that it’s an advantage to have a game or two under your belt before playing a team in their first game.
All of these circumstances now go away for Houston, and they have to get ready for game two. When I look at BYU they have been extremely sharp all season. BYU head coach made some interesting comments before the game against UTSA, talking about he was concerned having to prepare for a team that uses a tight end, And for the majority of their game their defense played very vanilla, yet they were challenged by the UTSA defense. Could this be the result of BYU Peking ahead? Were they not as focused or motivated last week? Is the public perception on BYU fading, due to recency bias?
Based on the current schedule, this is BYU one chance to show that they are for real. They’re scheduled to this point has been soft, no fault of their own, and the schedule to come is also exceptionally soft. Think of this as a bowl game that they want to play in more than the other team. They should be highly motiv
Could they struggle, yes. Will they win the game 56 to nothing, likely not. I believe you will see BYU extremely focused on offense and defense, should be a fun game to watch. Ultimately I think BYU will win by a couple of scores, and I think recency bias is causing the perception of BYU to be lower than it was two weeks ago, and Houston’s perception is higher because of the blowout win against tuLane
Blue cougars for me, -4

I certainly believe you had that over last night I stayed away because I’m trying not to be an action junky which is a problem for me from time to time. My large plays tend to win so I’m sticking to those like tonight’s BYU -4.5 is where I got it ouch.

you get some super favorable lines. i see that Alabama game going UNDER as I think the Tide gets some things worked out on defense, the GA offense is nowhere near Lane Kiffin's Ole Miss schemes, and the GA Defense is literally no joke. O/U keeps rising i'm personally gonna wait and hope the public really eats into last week's defensive debacle.

ECU QB might not be playing due to Covid. ECU coach is keeping things tight, but they apparently have had some positive tests. That concern you at all for the over?
not nearly as much as this info being made public today and the line moving in favor of ecu.
