Nevada Tulane Discussion

Leaning Nevada here, but I already have a pick'em for some reason....Tulane fired their defensive coordinator after the season and lost their offensive coordinator to another job. Tulane's best defensive player is out and possibly their 2nd one might be out as well. They are both NFL prospects. I just can't find an update on the 2nd player yet. Tulane's secondary is soft and if both of their pass rushers are out then Nevada should be able to move the ball through the air. Their QB is pretty nice. Tulane on the other hand likes to pound the rock in a spread formation, so Nevada may have some trouble here. Travel factor favors Nevada. Looks like Tulane touched down in Idaho 16 hours ago from the east coast.

Anyone have any other useful info? Lower your units on these early bowl games

Update: The 2nd defensive player Cameron Sample is playing today. He’s a lethal pass rusher.

Wish some more people would throw out some knowledge.  I know bupkis about either of these teams....

Watch a lot of MW football, Nevada is so inconsistent. Hard to put money on them. The defense is good but not fast, making me think they can't hang with Tulane. Nevada offense can put up numbers. I see this as a shootout with last possession winning or it at least being close toward the end. 

Cameron Sample will have a field day. Look at San Jose St’s success to get pressure. Tulane has some bodies. Should be a helluva game! Great post.

 Yeah I know. I am going to sit this one out which means I will be rooting for Tulane to justify me passing There are just too many unknowns with coaches/players/travel. Anything can happen. Appreciate your input.

Line movement and coaching changes for Tulane make it an auto play on Nevada. 

23 mph wind and Nevada is a heavy passing team....  should have some effect on the game, but maybe not so much--

 In my location my weather app tells me its sunny when it's raining, so who knows  23 mph doesn't sound that bad and if it's just gusts I don't see it being an issue at all. I believe the temps are supposed to be around 39 degrees which is pretty warm at this point. 

For search engines I recommend duckduckgo. It blocks all tracking and eliminates all ads

I wouldn't put too much importance on weather, Nevada plays in weird weather a lot (e.g. Wyoming, Boise, Utah St, home, etc). If I had to play something, I'd do a small bet on Nevada ML. Spread dropped from Tulane -2.5 to -1.

Hearing some covid issues with Tulane O line. 

Sample isn't even on the depth chart lol .. you sure hes playing fritz said he's a game time decision but doesn't expect him too play 

Sample would be the biggest issue, if I"m betting Nevada ML.

 Not sure. I read it but could have been "fake news". If he doesn't play I really might wager a little on Nevada. Tulane would be without their 2 best pass rushers which means Nevada should tear up that weak secondary. 

Surprised the forecast went from like 15/17 mph to 23 this AM .. total is sitting around the same .. watch on the field early because Boise is a big stadium and orientated in such a way that it may block most of that wind .. not saying it won't impact on a few plays but also note Carson strong is legit arm and accurate and can cut through and Pratt is alot less accurate .. my experience playing wind .. sure want a team with a ground game but you got a QB who can cut through that wind / hit 3rd and long and you'll be only team with that ability all game ... I think Nevada can game around the tulane front since wave's secondary is really not good .. Also note Nevada up 20-zip early on SJSU and had kinda meltdown in H2 .. we'll see should be interesting .. 

Nevada's Poly RB basically lost the SJSU game single handledly, expect him to go OFF.

He already runs angry, but should be furious.

Ok I'm done trying to find out if Sample is playing. I'm just going half unit on Nevada +1.5. If anything it will provide me with some entertainment for the next couple hours...GL everyone  

Yeah way too many things going on leading into this Nevada game .. in game dudes .. take your best guess there .. 

Blame Christian McCaffrey for all of this. He was the one that started this sit out trend. However the other defensive lineman out, Patrick Johnson's father passed which is why he isn't playing. 

this game will be interesting. fritz is a great coach, 3 consecutive bowl appearances and aiming for 3rd win. chip long (former notre dame and memphis) took over as offensive coordinate, so not bad at all. tulane is a run heavy offense, and pratt is solid QB. pratt is not a bomber and thrive on short pass plays, so not sure how much impact 20-24MPH will have on tulane’s offense. didnt like how nevada imploded against sjsu 2H 23-0. im hoping it carries over against tulane. i locked in tulane -1 very big bet. good luck

Well, fuck....

I'm on Tulane for the following reasons:

Tulane wins their bowl games-- 4 of the last 5

They finished their season hot winning 4 of 5

They seem to have played the more impressive schedule although I, admittedly, am not as in-the-know as usual this covid season

A pounding running game is more reliable than a passing heavy offense

The Tulane qb is a beast 

Incredible....The announcers aren't even at the game? Does one guy have dial up connection, he is lagging hard 

Just bought out of Tulane and added some to Nevada.  All those d linemen out for Tulane?  Yikes
