Hey guys, I have been following NCCA football religiously for about the past 3 years. Not a long time I know. However, I feel like I’m ready to put my knowledge an intuition to the test. If anyone has some good advice for a beginner I would much appreciate it. I was also wondering about the NIU game vs IU-6.5? Im taking IU

I have no opinion on that game, but my advice would be to try and watch what some of the other cappers in this forum do. There are some excellent one's and they will often times provide valuable insight that the rookie handicapper may not think about.

Any particular cappers that you would recommend aggie? I've followed college football my entire life, but this is my first football season in the covers forums.

I don't follow any myself, but I will be posting my plays on here so feel free to check them out. Additionally, I do have a lot of respect for Big East Expert, Boom_Boom, among others. I would say though that you will pick up on who you like to follow and don't like to follow pretty quickly.
Also, be careful about picking something that seems too good to be true or is a popular pick. I guess that would be my one piece of advice.

My piece of advice is learn from your wins and losses. Why did you win that game, why did you lose it? Learn from your mistakes and like aggie said stay away from popular picks unless you feel like you got a winning angle. Never and I mean never think a game is a lock. As a bettor, capper, whatever name you decide to use just understand that these are educated guesses. You never know if a qb will have a bad game or an offense uncharacteristically turns it over 4 times.

Great advice thank you. Im going to try my best to contribute to this board. Im a recent UCF alum and I follow the program obsessively. Iv been to a majority of all fall practices and I go to every game; Im not biased either, I will bet against my own team. So hopefully I can provide detailed insight about UCF in regards to the lines they are in.

never, ever, ever, ever, ever bet more than 5% of your bank roll...... stay between 1% to 5% of bankroll at all times..... then gambling will be enjoyable...... if you do not...... trust me.... you will not win! and could lose more than you have.
no opinion on your game....

Never bet 5% of your bankroll? Unless your bankroll is 10,000 then this strategy will never make you any serious money. I'll bet 50% of my bank if I feel its a strong play. You will never get anywhere betting 5%.

What are you talking about in the original post? If NIU is Northern Illinois, they aren't playing any IU's this year. Perhaps you mean Northern Iowa? Well, they are playing Iowa State, which would be ISU, not IU.
Lesson #1: don't use abbreviations like IU that can easily be confused. Do you mean Iowa, Illinois, or Indiana?
