Why do so many people not recognize the Vikings?

This team is good in every area of football. 

It has to be Sam Darnold right? 

People are waiting for the Sam Darnold of old, aren't they?

In 13 starts he's posted 11 games with a 100+ qbr rating.

He's the best qb vs the blitz this year.

He's 6th in epa+cpoe composite.

Fg is letting the other team an opportunity to beat or staying close to you to eat up that nice spread.

Idk, personal hang up where his spots come up to bet, I get burned.   When he gets lost, he really gets lost.

But he's crisp today and making good decisions early.

The reason why nobody tooken Minnesota serious is cuz 2 year ago they finished 13-4 and got lucky every win, they were the phoniest 13-4 team in history and losted to Danny dines and new York giant in playoffs so you know that means suspect suck

Nobody took the Bears tonight.   

I hope everyone keeps taking them lightly.

Yes but dvoa proved them frauds, that was one of the luckiest records by a team of that caliber. I remember cashing one.of my biggest bets ever on the Cowboys that year vs the Vikings. 

This year the Vikings are 6th in dvoa.

The Bears have now scored zero points in the 1H in their last 3 games.

Vikings lose first round of the playoffs, secondary will always keep the opponent in the game

For me it is Sam Darnold but then I lost money on him earlier in his career. Stats don't lie and perhaps he has marinated and at long last matured.

I have noticed the Viking team success and he has improved but I can't just bring myself to bet on him or against. I sure do like the pressure defenses of Brian Flores. His approach reminds me of a DC named Bud Carson from a different era.

 Darnold's one year in SF did wonders for him in learning Shanahan's system. Great move by O'Connell to scoop him up just in case. JJ Mcarthy went down in training camp, and Darnold has erased all doubts.

 He looked both awesome and incompetent in the course of that game.   But with a strong team around him, amazing what a change of scenery can do.

He didn't have a good game last night. He missed a few throws. He posted his 3rd worst qbr for the season at 74.1. The Bears have a very good secondary that decided to show up, not like last week vs SF.

As of the end of week 15, the Vikings current win total of 11 has come against only two teams with winning records, GB and Houston.  9 of those wins are teams .500 or lower (7 lower than .500, 2 at .500). 

Both of their losses have been to teams with a winning records (Rams & Lions).

Begs the question who have Minnesota beaten this season that would indicate they are contender to win the NFC?

I'll argue they are the most overrated team in the NFL at the moment.

One thing that I can say is that dvoa accounts for sos better than any other analytical power rankings. Dvoa had come a long way and have solid rankings imo.

The Vikings have a serious shot at the #1 seed, and they have a really good hfa.

We'll see.

Do you also believe KOC can out scheme McVay in a winner take all if the playoff seeds today held?  DVOA out the window; this is the playoffs.

I'm  there with you sac, I don't understand it either.

They have been consistently  one of the most efficient  teams all season ranking in the top 5 in pts per plays margin and yards per points margin.

They do have alot of close wins 7 to only 1 close loss. But they are 4-0 in blowout wins, that is very good and to some degree off-sets those close wins.

I think  Vikes are going to surprise those people that haven't noticed them  come playoff time.

You can't do one thing and say the other.

For arguments sake, what if I said, "throw dvoa out the window, the Eagles win loss record is the Siren's Call to the average watcher/bettor"
