Oregon and Florida St - what they have left.........................................................

all this talk about who will be ranked higher is still far from over, because there are lots of style points left to earn through the voters, but the computers will see the two top 10 wins for FSU and one top 10 win for Oregon, and it will make a huge huge difference.

this thing is far from over, but IF IF IF both teams run the table, I've got FSU in the BCS title game, not Oregon.

Hey bro, did you see that defense against BC? The Noles haven't played any offenses except a decent Clemson one, if their defense is elite then I haven't seen it yet, Oregon just held ucla to 14 (& those were both on very short fields)

I would take the ducks @ a PK over Florida State tomorrow

Give me that matchup & it will be Ducks all day

My point exactly about UCLA, they are banged up on offense. I didnt expect UCLA to put up points thats why I so surpised that everyone loved the over vs Oregon.

IMO Oregon will be -6 vs Florida St in National Championship. It will get bet down to about -4.5....But I would love to get Jameis Winston as a dog. I know he would have a pre game speech for that.

I'm not sure Bama loses either, hard to imagine auburn beating them, maybe LSU

What if I told you Auburn is better then LSU?? And they get Bama at home. 

Gus Malzahn's offense is hard to stop. Its such a run heavy offensive strategy that it doesnt have let downs game to game. Once the offenense fully learned by the O-line, qb, rbs, and blocking wrs, its so hard to stop cause it wears u down on defense. He turned Arkansas St. into great team at the end of last year. Auburn believes right now. Normally a team pulling off an upset at A&M would have sh*t the bed the following week in a let down spot. They put up 45 points and 628 yards vs a halfway decent FAU defense in a let down spot. 

Nick Marshall's mini injury doesnt scare me at all. They will keep getting better every week. Every practice adding a few more plays and some more wrinkles. They will be ready.

If Auburn wins out up to the Bama game, it will be for all the marbles. Tiebreaker goes head to head. Auburn in Bama OUT. Change of the guard

i agree the stanford game will be extremely tough, just like it was when stanford won at autzen LY.

the point of this thread is that i see the majority of posters here at covers think that IF IF IF both oregon and fsu win out (big big IF), that it's a foregone conclusion that oregon will be ranked higher in the bcs and i don't believe that is necessarily the case.

these folks are giving too much credit to oregon strength of sched which could be diminished by teams like oregon st et al who could be in freefall mode in the next few weeks.

they are also discounting that 2/3 of the equation are the human pools, ie usa today and harris, and those can factor in huge if fsu continues to destroy opponents incl miami potentially twice.

this will all be moot if either team or both of them lose, but then again if each have one loss then they could still factor in the title race ala year's past.

i just think it's naive and shortsighted for a lot of people here to say it's mathematically decided that oregon will go over fsu if they are both undefeated, because it's simply not the case.

There is no chance that FSU makes it to the championship if Bama and Oregon dont lose...the jump this week proves it...

Miami and Clemson are garbage, and those will be their best wins.  Miami should have lost to UNC and Wake and it wouldnt be suprising if both those teams end up with 2-3 losses each

If/Once Oregon beats Stanford, they have the #2 spot locked up as long as they dont lose

so beating top 10 miami potentially twice and top 10 clemson on the road, even if the miami games are fsu blowouts, cannot garner enough votes from the pollsters to keep them in the top 2?

do you realize that IF oregon plays in the pac 12 title gm, it will most likely be vs then-unranked ucla or asu?  while fsu will have ranked miami in the acc title game?

you don't think that will weigh on voters minds the next day??

Yes they did, Week 4 they won at LSU 35-21. They didnt have a full grasp and timing of the new offense yet. Typically in a Gus Malzahn offense you can look at the QB rushing numbers per game. When that QB starts ripping off 100 yard games, then its going really well. It takes time to perfect this style of no huddle  offense. Think of it kinda like BYU. Once they established rhythm in their no huddle they put up big numbers. BYU had huge offensive line problems early getting the timing down. Auburn also has a new defensive co-ordinator this year so there is a learning curve there also. 

Just take Auburn every game the rest of the year. Hopefully the lines arent too inflated off the last two games.

Miami and Clemson will not end in the top 10....not both of them atleast...I would be shocked if either does.

I think they fact Oregon just jumped them this week says all it needs to say...

FSU jumped out to a 35 point lead in the 1st qtr....And if you think about the Oregon game everyone was talking how bad Oregon looked then BAM they cover...

And they jump FSU???

Im unloading on Auburn. No matter what the line is. 7.5-15.5 doenst matter to me. 

Vegas will probably set the line so you are scared to take Auburn.

N. Marshall rushed for a 100 yards against A&M on 20 attempts. A&M gave up almost 400 on the ground. Auburn bearly has 100 yards rushing from their QB combined in the other three games they've played since the LSU game. They haven't started the same QB in back to back games in their last four games. 

They'll finish out the season 2-2 at best.

UGA and Bama. They also have 2 SEC road games. Anything is possible, that's just the way I see it. 

I did take the points with Vandy. I lost. Not sure why you have your panties in a wad over my opinions.

I stated the facts about their ground game from the QB position bc you made it sound like they are starting to get into a grove. If it takes time to perfect Gus' offense like you say then I would think they're going to need to be a little bit more consistent when it comes to the person actually running the offense.

Gave them credit for the A&M game even thought A&M can't stop anybody. Misread the Ole Miss line and skipped over Wallace's 6/36 in the FAU game bc he didn't have a pass attempt. Again, not sure why you are so upset.

There is a little problem with your scenario. FSU will probably have zero top 10 wins computer wise. Miami computer wise is ranked 11th right now. If FSU beats them, Miami may not even be top 20. Clemson could very easily lose to South Carolina dropping them out of 8th. FSU may end up 4th in the computer rankings if undefeated. OSU is already ahead of FSU in 2 computer rankings. Wisconsin entered into the top 25 of computer rankings this week. Wisconsin has a good shot at running the table, if they do I would not be surprised if they reach the top 10. They will be ahead of Miami. the winner of Michigan vs Mich State has a chance at the top 10 too. A lot of teams ahead of them are going to lose, they play each other. Another thing is the B1G is practically done with OOC play. Only 1 game left. Wisconsin vs BYU. The ACC has 11 left with several losable games including games vs FSU opponents. WF @ Vandy, Clemson @ USC. GT vs Georgia. Pitt vs ND. Not to mention Florida looks like a 7-5 team.

Basically what I am saying is that not only is FSU not going to catch undefeated Oregon in the computers, but there is a good chance they fall behind OSU. FSU's lead over OSU in the computers was cut by over 2/3rds in last week just by OSU beating Penn State. From .19 lead to a .05 lead.

In the end I think the gap between FSU and OSU will tighten up a lot in both the computer and human polls and the gap between Oregon and FSU will widen.

This is why human polls are bullshit.  If you ranked teams based on performance, Alabama, Oregon and Florida State would be more closely ranked.  But because of preseason expectations, it looks like Bama and Oregon will likely advance.  It'll take some close games by Oregon vs crappy teams and blowouts by Florida State to overtake them.

The problem is Oregon doesn't really have any games left vs crappy teams like FSU has. Stanford is 7-1, Arizona is 6-2, Oregon State is 6-2, and even Utah is 4-4. FSU has Miami 7-0, WF 4-4, Syracuse 3-4, Idaho 1-7, and Florida 4-3. FSU's schedule looks like OSU's down the stretch. If FSU has some close games down the stretch and OSU gets some style points, I wouldn't be surprised if OSU passes FSU.

My guess is 1 of either Alabama or Oregon loses..... and then it will be a lot tighter between OSU and FSU than people think. OSU has a lot more room to gain than FSU especially in the computers. OSU has teams above it that are going to lose. Sagarin actually has NIU ahead of OSU. That won't last either.
