Here are a few thoughts............
I did a early Pre season Top 10 about 2 months ago. After much summer study this is where I stand. I think we are about to witness the best season we have all seen in many many years.....
There is a lot of parity in college football now. I think there is Alabama.........and then a group of about 12 teams that are really interchangeable IMO. College football these days are like night and day. One week from the next you really never know whats in store. I think the spread offense is/has changed the game. Really to be honest with you, almost every team has a " package " in their playbook that is " spread " football. To here some of these coaches complain about " up tempo " football is simply embarrassing. The same coaches that complain about " player safety " are the same coaches that have no problem with the Clowney hit. I myself love the Clowney hit, it's football, you are gonna get smacked sometimes. Tempo football has nothing to do with player safety, it has to do with coaches not liking to defend it. Saban looked very vulnerable against A&M and so has Brett Bielema. So please, STFU about up tempo and player safety. Larry Fedora from UNC said if these coaches are worried about player safety then quit lining up in the Power I formation and abusing LB's play after play after play.... But I guess that " abuse " is OK.
Too many rule changes. It seems to me that every year the NCAA wants to change the way football is played. Here is a idea, stay out of the game NCAA..... It's not about you. It's about the schools, programs, players and tradition. Not a bunch of old guys in suits dictating the way the game is played. I got news for the NCAA, either you guys get on board, or college football will leave you behind. Why? The game is much bigger then you.
When are we going to get more coverage from other media outlets to rival ESPN? I dont know about you guys, but ESPN has really gotten out of hand with their antics in recent years. We all know there is a bias, it's just a matter if you really want to acknowledge it or not. I think FOX is trying to get into the picture, but they really need to step it up. Getting Erin Andrews was a good start, at least that shows they are committed to challenging EsecPN.
The question is now.............. are you ready?
32 days boys......
