SEC is laughable

i am from the south and i agree 100% with jwyoming. Name me one significant road win besides fla in LSU in the sec this year. I understand the sec has dominated the national title game since the inception of the bcs but lets be real. the sec school is not always playing the best team left. they may have got it right last year but even that is debateable. and one thing the sec has goin for it is in the sec a team like fla loses one game they still have a chance to avenge that loss in the sec championship, but someone like USC cant afford to lose that one game. Also the sec schools schedule alot more creampuff games out of conference than other schools, although thats starting to change a little eversense Auburn was left out of the title game after goin undefeated. the reason, 83rd toughest schedule in the country.

These kind of posts really rub me the wrong way.  Yes I think the SEC is the best conference year in and year out, but why the fuck do some of you guys always make excuses when something bad happens to a SEC team?  Fucking man up and hold your teams accountable too. 

If that was Ohio State that lost that game, you would talk about it for years about how overrated they were and how they don't have speed or athletes and how the SEC is so great and how OSU would go 50 percent with a SEC schedule and how the SEC would beat some pro teams.

sec hands down stronger and more depth,,,,,those other conferences would not hold up if they had to battle any sec schedule... easy to play one tough game at the end of the year..but try to play that kinda team every week!!they wouldnt have players at the the end of the year!!!...lol.. SEC HANDS DOWN TOUGHEST CONFERENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't agree more with you about all these teams right to play for the championship if they go undefeated, but i think it has nothing to do with bias if they dont....it has to do with the teams at the top starting there at the beginning of the season. Dont forget, in 2004 Auburn went undefeated and were not in the championship game because USC and Oklahoma had been 1 and 2 all year....I think if anything the problem is the ranking system and lack playoffs....when will the NCAA realize that we HAVE to have some sort of playoff system?

Just to show how the SEC compares to other conferences......here are the 6 BCS conferences bowl records over the last 3 years


Big 12:    12-11
ACC:       10-16
Big Ten:   6-16
Pac 10:   12-5
Big East: 12-4

SEC:       19-8


So....The SEC has played in more bowl games over the past 3 years than any other conference....has WON more bowl games than any other conference...And is above 70% in win percentage in those games

Wow... You fail hard J... Bama, overrated??? Please explain that... Also, if the SEC is laughable, please put 5 teams from ANY conference, side by side with the top 5 teams in the SEC, and tell me, while you aren't smoking crack, which side is stronger.

As for Bama... Please look at our schedule... Making my case thet the SEC IS the strongest conference in the Nation... Bama has had some of the most impressive, in coference wins against these SEC teams, than any other team. They have completely dominated all of their opponents except Tennessee, and that win came after beating 4 SEC teams in a row. There have been MAYBE two teams in the past decade who have won 5 SEC games in a row.

Yeah, and have they shown any signs that they are even close to being the same team they were last season? Bama is a far more complete team, offensively and defensively. Our offensive line doesn't rely on one player any more, is more explosive, and our defense is more mature. Also, we were coming off a hard fought battle, that we almost win, against the team that won the national title, easily.

I'm actually not a fan of the SEC. I don't have a favorite team in NCAAF, I just enjoy the game. If I had to pick a conference it would be the Big East or the ACC as my favorite. So I'm far from an SEC fanboy, but it is pretty obvious that Bama did not give two shits about that game, thats my point. The SEC is not a powerhouse, but they are undoubtably the strongest Conference this year.

The fact of the matter is this.  EVERY conference this year has done worse than expected.  The Big 12 and SEC are top heavy, and that is it.  The Pac 10 is the Pac 10, but USC is having a down year (if you can call 2 losses a down year).  The ACC and Big 10 are just terrible as a whole.  The Big East really should not be considered a legit BCS Conference at all. 

If you really want to measure the success of a conference, post season bowl games is the way to go, and obviously the SEC with 12 teams and 8 bowl tie ins, and the Pac 10 with 10 teams and 6 bowl tie in's, are way ahead of eveyone else.  But every conference seems to be down this year.  Is that because we expect too much out of these conferences?

They almost lost to Michigan... The teams they play are nobody's... So what if they beat more teams with winning records. I can bring a high school team in who is 4-3, let them play Bama and get beat, but I won't say that Bama is a better team because of it.

oregon would kill alabama and usc would kill Florida hands down. Ucla kills tenn as usual, and cal would demolish uga/lsu, stanford kills auburn, ari st wins against vandy and whoever else

Ehhh! Wrong!!! As it is right now, Florida would play Oregon and rape them, and even if it were Alabama, NO, Oregon wouln't beat Alabama. Alabama/Florida plays Arizona, and rapes them. LSU gets Stanford and beats the shit out of them easy. USC plays Georgia, and beats them. California would either get Auburn or South Carolina and would LOSE to them.
