Gamecocks should have had the ball on the 30 with enough time to kick the potential game tying field goal.Instead the refs decided they had better things to do with their time so they just let the rest of the time run off the clock so they could leave.
I had Auburn and the points so I’m glad I didn't have to sweat out an OT, but I still hate it when refs pull shit like this.

Actually they screwed themselves when they ran onto the field today....Next time I suggest they sleep in and only put on the jersey's if they plan to play Football. Glad they lost If I am gonna loose money thats the least they can do for me is go down with my ship.

yeah,i agree with you. on aub too. why was it not reviewed ? I'm thinking Garcia has been hitting a big ole fat blunt before the games. he has looked really bad the last two wks in particular. terrible decisions. 6 picks ?

Don't blame the refs S.C should of spiked the ball instead of using that time out. And besides i didn't want the game to go into over time cause i had the second half under.

There was only a second left at the most. They didn't have any timeouts, so they wouldn't have been able to spike the ball. No way they have enough time to get the play off. WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!

Funny you mention that as I thought they were about to screw Auburn by stopping the clock long enough to let USC get their field goal unit on when there was no way in hell they would have if they just continue the game by stopping the clock with one second and starting it back after the chains moved and the ball was set. But what do I know...

but it takes 1 more second to stop the clock (when the whistle blows) taking the clock to 0.00 time left
the one official on the top of the screen wasnt even stopping the clock (making sure the runner was down n no quick whistle in case there was a fumble) always wait to blow the whistle game over!
also, the officials cant anticipate the knee down on the tackle, by stopping the clock early...
I was thinking if they reviewed it, it would be at 01 seconds
but that would be not putting the human element into the common sense of keeping the clock right...
so game over!
thats what the referee thought all along!
this is not the nfl where they never run 1 or 2 seconds after the whistles blow! in the nfl, there would have been .01 seconds yet
cause in the nfl, they do whatever they want!

It looked to me like he was down with two seconds left.
I have seen plenty of college games where that was enough to give the offense one more down.
It’s really up the refs whether they get that down or not. This crew decided not to give it to them.
Again, if Ellington would have just takin' a knee instead of burnin' an extra three seconds gettin 2 more yards, the 'Cocks would have had more than enough time to attempt a field goal.

That’s like a safety tackling a WR 2 seconds before the ball gets to him and after no flag is thrown you say “oh well, if he was running faster he wouldn’t have been interfered with.”
What happened, happened. It was up the officials to make the call and, IMO, they blew it.

Woudlnt have changed anything, can't run a fg team on in 1 second snap the ball and kick it. the clock starts as soon as the ball is spotted. Also clocks keep moving when the play is over all the time. Watch every touchdown, as soon as a runner breaks into the end zone the clock should stop but they always roll off 1-2 seconds. thats the delay between the time the whistle stops and the time keeper stops the clock. It will get called like that in every game all the time. The fact you're advocating that the kicking team that wasnt even ready could have put their helmets on and set up and snapped the ball for a kick is incredibly foolish though. The clock starts again as soon as the ball is spotted, you would literally have to be lined up ready to snap when the ball is spotted. It's impossible. 1 second isn't enough time and you know it.
